Transport Across Membranes - Flashcards

(0)
A set of 30 flashcards for a uniquely quirky game…here’s how to play cut up all cards - there are 30 put students in pairs/three and place pack between them face down (1 pack of cards per pair) student 1 draws a card and tells student 2 the name of the molecule (eg glucose). Student 2 must reply with information : eg is it polar/non polar? how does it get through the membrane (eg facilitated diffusion), does it use a channel/carrier protein? does it require ATP? Student 2 now repeats step 3-4 Students struggle for a couple of minutes, then really get the hand of it. Stretch and challenge build in to game (eg "moving up to 85% pf potassium into a cell) realy gets them thinking!

After 2 mins the next team mate continues).

Transcription and Translation - Dominoes

(0)
A set of 24 dominoes that cover the topics of Transcription and Translation. Can be played in different ways, but I prefer to print, chop down the middle (once) , then chop left to right. The question on the right will match to an answer on the left of another domino. When completed correctly, the whole set forms a complete loop.
