This is a 50 page slideshow of information, pictures and photographs on Auschwitz Birkenau. The slideshow consists of background information, pictures taken from the internet, and pictures from my own visit to Poland and the camps. The powerpoint was originally delivered to a Year 6 class as part of their WW2 topic, but it could be used or adapted for a KS3 audience. The pack is a comprehensive introduction to LGBT rights, and explores a wide variety of issues. This resource includes glossaries, research, the law, impact for schools, curriculum and support, learning opportunities and an analysis of different strategies that ‘normalise’ LGBT rights within the classroom. While the pack is predominantly information based, there are lesson / curriculum ideas included inside.

The sheet finishes with a ‘Rating’ section, where the children are asked to rate 6 different aspects of their Secondary Schools by colouring a star rating. Text: ’Porky pigs trotted off to jail’ is Newspaper text written to accompany The Guardian Three Little Pigs advert (see link below) which can be found on YouTube. The advert shows the 3 little pigs being arrested for the murder of the big bad wolf and an attempted fraud case. The newspaper reports on the incident as if it were real life, and follows a clear structure of Introduction, before the incident, the night of the incident, after the incident, and a final conclusion. The text meets the Year 6 Age-Related Criteria, and can be used as an example of a Newspaper text that can be adapted and used as a basis for writing. Comprehensions: 3 Differentiated comprehensions that are written to mirror the KS2 SATs Year 6 Reading paper. They can be completed within 1 lesson, and are split into LA, MA and HA. 4 differentiated worksheets to be used as part of a unit on Time. The children will be required to calculate the end time of 6 films (all current) based on their start time and running duration. Below, there are 3 questions for the children to answer based on the showings they have worked out. LA: Films start on the hour and have simple running times (e.g. 2 hours 30 minutes) MA: Films start at various times and have simple running times (e.g. 9:20am start, and run for 1 hour 45 minutes) **HA: **Films start at various times and have more complicated running times (e.g. 2 hours and 49 minutes) **HA+: **As with the HA, but with an added challenge of calculating the start time with adverts and credits running before and after the film (e.g. 13 minutes of credits before each film).
