This set of 27, (almost) unlimited, sets of worksheets on Multiplying and Dividing Decimals by 10, 100, and 1000 is designed as a natural progression from multiplying whole numbers by 10, 100, and 1000, and introduces multiplying decimals by powers of 10.
The use of place value tables in the initial worksheets provides a visual aid to help students understand what happens multiplying or dividing by 10, 100 or 1000.
Gradually, the notion of moving the decimal point is included (with visual support), and then both are removed completely.
In the final 3 sets, students are introduced to the concept of writing numbers with powers or indices, by firstly looking at the pattern that connects the various forms of writing powers of 10 then practicing with mixed exercises and a final challenge.
This scaffolded resource of 27 Sets of worksheets with unlimited opportunity to repeat any level as many times as needed and provide you with the freedom to personalize the program of work to any degree you want should prepare your students well for the next level of work involving powers or indices.

Order of operations provides a common approach to evaluating numerical expressions that include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, parenthesis (brackets) and exponents (indices) across mathematical and scientific disciplines throughout the world.
These worksheets enable a smooth transition from the basic four operations calculated separately to solving algebraic equations that requires a good mastery of the order of operations.
Differentiated worksheets
The worksheets are structured to progressively challenge and develop your students skills in this topic:
Set 1: We begin by reviewing the order of operations without exponents
Set 2: Exponents are introduced into numerical expressions either a mix of addition and subtraction or multiplication without parentheses
Set 3: Brackets are now added into numerical expressions either a mix of addition and subtraction or multiplication and division
Set 4: Each question contains all the elements of BODMAS) except brackets using 3 to 6 numbers
Set 5: Each question contains all the elements of BODMAS again using 3 to 6 numbers
Set 6: Challenge 1. Students are presented with numerical equations that need a brackets to be added to make the equations true. Excellent practice using trial and error and learning to record all trials right and wrong.
Set 7: Challenge 2. Each question now has 6 or 7 digits and all the elements of BODMAS
Set 8: Challenge 3. Word base problems need to be translated into numerical expressions and solved
How many worksheets are there in total ?

The worksheets are structured as follows
Set 1: Compare two decimal numbers in place value tables
Set 2: Compare two decimal numbers in standard format
Set 3: Compare decimal numbers one in standard and the other in expanded format
Set 4: Compare two decimal numbers in expanded format
Set 5: Compare two decimal numbers in standard and USA or UK-AU word format
