A resource to lead A2 Biology Students (AQA designed) through the contraction of myofibrils. This can be used as an independant learning task with research resources, assessment, or to consolidate learning at the end of a topic. Tasks become more challenging through the pack, culminating in A2 past exam question from AQA. The markscheme can be used for self, peer or teacher assessment, either after each task is complete, or at the end of the workpack.

The format provides very structured guidance in how to answer the question and make 6 points by providing a clear marking scheme at the bottom. A good introduction to answering 6 mark questions and considering answers a little more.

Images to create a small flipbook demonstrating the nerves that are active in the reflex arc. Pupils can cut out the pieces and staple together to a flipbook (or get the awesome reprographics guy to sort it), and then pupils can colour in the nerve that is active (first sensory, then reflex, then motor - and then the hand is removed as the effector muscle is active) to show the direction and action of each nerve. NB: Cutting off the bottom right hand corner at an angle makes the book easier to 'flick&'. :)

Labels to help set up a 'Light Circus&' - using different practical stations around the classroom. Pupils circulate the stations using equipment such as lenses, lights, prisms and mirrors.
