A little Freebie, called, Balancing Act, based on the book by, Ellen Stoll Walsh. The story of 2 little mice who are playing see-saw on a piece of wood. Along come a variety of animals who knock them off balance, making one side heavier than the other. I have put together a few pages where you need to identify which side is heavier.

One More/ One Less Butterflies

Encourage child initiated learning with these butterflies. Once cut and laminated they can be used time and again. There are green bodies from 1-19, and 38, various coloured wings from 0-20. They’re ideal for going on the placing and arranging table or in your maths area. Children identify the number on the body and then look for the numbered wings that are one more or one less. There is also a fully formed, blank butterfly, for the children to write on with a dry wipe pen, creating their own number problems.

Number bonds from 0-10 with a treasure theme. In this pack there are 11 treasure chests, from 0-10. Each treasure chests needs 6 coins. Each coin has a maths problem on which needs matching up to the correct number chest. There are 11 chests and 66 golden coins. Once cut and laminated, can be placed in the maths area for child initiated learning.

12 large numbers and 2 hands, for children to create their own clock. Once made, children can then select one of the 24 times and then recreate it on the large clock. Included is 12 numbers, 2 hands, 12 o’clock times and 12 half past times, as well as the instructions. Can be created in a Tuff Tray, table or on the floor. Numbers and hands can be enlarged/reduced in size to suit, before laminating. You could also use as a cutting and sticking activity

Next encourage children to identify the correct number of spots on the domino and place next to the correct number. The second game, children have an oversized, blank domino and put the correct number of spots onto it, to match the number they have selected. These resources can be printed as they are or enlarged/reduced in size, then laminated. You may also want to use this as a cutting and sticking activity.
