Year 3 Addition and Subtraction - 3-digit + 1-digit Lesson (carrying)
A fully-resourced lesson aimed at the Year 3 objective based on being able to add a 1-digit number to a 3-digit number where some carrying is needed…
Included is a lesson PowerPoint that includes an arithmetic starter for each lesson, key vocabulary, modelling and discussion as well as guided practice. This then moves on to an independent activity and challenge questions, with answers included for these.
Base 10 will also be needed to support the learning as this acts as an introductory lesson which mixes between using Base 10 and modelling the written addition alongside this.
3x Table Activities (25 activities)
25 different activities linked to the 3x table that give the opportunity to work on and improve understanding of the 3x table facts in different ways.
This includes activities that range from list questions that help show commutativity, inverse and multiples of 10, 0.1 etc., filling in tables that require children to make links between different facts, completing sequences that link to the ability to count in 3s and using written multiplication and division using facts from the 3x table. Additionally, there are tasks linked to fractions in finding fractions of amounts, multiplying and dividing fractions by whole numbers and multiplying a fraction by a fraction.
Answers are also included for every activity in a separate booklet.

A worksheet that provides the chance to practise rounding to 10. The worksheet is set out as number lines where the tens need to be filled in either side before deciding which 10 it rounds to.
There are 12 questions and an answer sheet so children can check their own answers.

Answer sheets are included for all independent activities and challenge tasks.
