Twelve lessons that focus on number fluency for the four operations. Addition and subtraction: Six lessons that focus on number fluency involving addition and subtraction. This includes lessons on number bonds within 20 and how these can be used to solve other calculations as well as more general addition and subtraction questions and how these can be used to solve other calculations including decimal calculations. These can be used across Key Stage Two. Lessons are done as doubles with a PowerPoint for each lesson with an arithmetic starter (written for Year 6 but easily adaptable). Each lesson has an activity included alongside apply it tasks and challenge task that include activities from White Rose and NRich. These may simply apply what has been learnt or look to do it in a different way. Multiplication and division: Six lessons that focus on number fluency involving multiplication and division. This includes lessons on general multiplication and division facts and how these can be used to solve other calculations as well as more general multiplication and division questions and how these can be used to solve other calculations including decimal calculations. A double lesson that focuses on doubling and halving with one lesson on doubling and the second on halving. Each lesson has an arithmetic starter included in the PowerPoint (written for Year 6 but easily changed for other year groups), questions and discussion points and then an activity and apply it/ challenge tasks that involve some form of doubling or halving. Lessons have been created with Year 6 in mind and working on developing understanding but can easily be adapted across Key Stage Two.
