A bit of fun at the end of History topic homes - children can be as creative as they like designing a home of the future. For links with Literacy, can write a description of the house and label picture.
Given 9 key words in groups, children then rearrange the key words discussing which they think is most important and so on. This happens on the floor with large paper and flashcards, the end result is then written up onto this sheet.

There is also two case studies - Schindler and Calais. There are also interesting facts mainly linked to the UK about refugees statistics in 2015. Presentation on the dodo bird, which I used with my class as writing stimulus. Pupils loved learning about the funny-looking bird and its interesting history. Powerpoint contains information on: history, extinction, fun facts and dodos in the media. There is also a word list included with ambitious vocabulary. I used this presentation for: information leaflets, story writing, poems and a tourist brochure on Mauritius.
