The theme is citizenship and involves things like looking after our planet and environment as well as our responsibilities to look after ourselves and others.

A fun way to teach grid referencing linking to Geography, Literacy and Maths.
Here are two versions of the popular game Battleships - one easier, one harder.
The aim of the game is for team or pupil 1 to hide battleships on their grid. Team or pupil 2 tries to locate them suggesting grid references. If they get a ‘hit’, they cover their grid referenced with a hit symbol- ‘Kapow’, ‘Boo’, etc or a colour counter. They can add a different colour counter to indicate a miss keeping track of the references they have already suggested.
There are 2 colour boards
Numbers to 4 and letters a - d.
Numbers to 7 and letters a - g.
There are blank grids included for you or pupils to make their own personalised games.
There are colour battleships included for cutting out and black and white ones for colouring in .

A close observation, memory and speaking and listening game that gets progressively more difficult as more and more items are taken away.
The game is a PPT take on the more traditional Kim’s game were items might be on a tray, covered up and one taken away. Children guess what is missing.
The game is based on a teacher arriving in class and the items and decoration that is in the classroom.
The first slide on each page is the same and on the second one or more items have been taken away. E.g the lunch box from under the table in slide 1 and the empty cola can in slide 2.
Children could work in pairs or groups or you could play the game as a whole class.
Use a timer for more fun!
By the time the children get to slide 14 the classroom is almost empty and there are many items to recall or list.
Use less slides depending on the age and ability of the class. Print the slides out for a table top group activity.
Very useful for those learning English and links to Describing School/ the classroom.
Use these slides or posters to discuss vocabulary to do with measures.
Children can come up with their own words which can also describe the pictures.

The clock faces are presented in a clear and engaging manner, making it easy for young learners to understand and interact with them.
Activity Ideas:
Explore a range of real clocks including wall clocks, alarm clocks, watches, digital clocks and roman numeral clocks.
Display a clock face card on the board and have students identify the time. This can be done as a whole class activity or in small groups. This resource supports o’clock, half past and quarter past the hour. There are blank templates for you to extend further.
Create Your Own Clock: Use card circles, students create their own clock faces. They can choose a style they prefer and add the times using markers, stickers, or other materials. This hands-on activity will help them develop a deeper understanding of how different clock faces represent time.
Time Matching: Print and cut out multiple sets of the clock face cards. Have students work in pairs or small groups to match the different clock faces showing the same time. This activity encourages collaboration and reinforces their time-telling skills.
