This SOW covers Oedipus The King and includes 18 detailed lessons. The PowerPoint is easy to follow and requires only the script as a resource. This SOW is ideally suited for KS4/KS5 Drama, although it could be adapted easily for high ability KS3 classes. The SOW includes both a practical and written assessment. Learning Objectives: Recalling the plot and main characters of Oedipus Understanding Greek theatre techniques Applying knowledge of the plot, characters and intentions to performances Analysing Oedipus through practical and written assessment Evaluating the success of other and your own performances Creating performances using script and improvisation Learning outcomes: To have an understanding of the: plot, main characters, Greek theatre techniques and playwrights intentions To complete a practical assessment To complete a written assessment To evaluate successes I do not own any of the media/ pictures/ videos included in the PowerPoint

The SOW allows the play to be explored through both practical and written activities.
