Mobile phone mast at your school

This resource is available in the Psychclip shop now here - https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/mobile-phone-mast-at-your-school-stakeholders-pshe-newspaper-template-11591585 This is a new lesson which I've done with a few groups and has proved to be very effective. The pupils need to read the article and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of having a mobile phone mast erected at their school, but halfway through the lesson it is advisable to change students perspective by telling them they have to represent different stakeholder groups e.g. one group could be students, another the 3G Management team.

Update - the newspaper article is available in my shop now This is a lesson which I've done with a few groups and it is easily adaptable to any school. The pupils need to read the article and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of having a nuclear plant next to their school, but halfway through the lesson it is advisable to change students perspective by telling them they have to represent different stakeholder groups. It has worked extremely well in the past and some students have actually thought the nuclear plant was a genuine proposal, so it's a good idea to make it clear that it';s not true at the end of your lesson.

This is a lesson starter for students to understand Expressions and Equations. When students enter the room they should be given a card. Then one of the Equations should be read out and students should come to the front and try to solve the equations as a team. This is very good for low ability students who tend to struggle with equations and it allows students to work in a team and develops their teamworking skills.

Correlation Starter - Age & Beauty

I've used this PowerPoints with students to get them interested in Correlation which is quite a dry topic in Psychology - Students really respond to the celebrity pictures and opens up interesting discussions between students.\n \nMore importantly it ensures they get what positive and negative correlation is but with the last slide they have to plot their own graph as they may have to do in the exam.

Euthanasia lesson on Tony Nicklinson

I did this for an OFSTED inspection. I've done a Youtube video to accompany the lesson which helps to create fantastic discussion in the classroom and raises awareness of 'Locked in Syndrome&' - it creates a good debate between students too.

Paper Aeroplane Challenge

(7)
An active learning based lesson which students actually make paper aeroplanes and have to consider things like quality and productivity.Students should work in groups to produce the aeroplanes under a strict time limit - there needs to be a no flying rule and breaking of that rule will result in a £100 fine - The teacher is the only one with a pilots licence! Update - This resource is availale for a small fee now in my other resources
