Questions are split into Vocabulary/Retrieval/Summary/Prediction/Explain/Authors Choice/Inference, each session has a mini task which is attached to it, this may be an exam question in the style of a reading comp or a short written task.
Complete unit for Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, 4 weeks worth of planning including 1 powerpoint for each week, any resources as well as detailed planning.
Text types include: Letter, Diary, Explanation, Newspaper, Narrative.
Unit of work based around coasts, giving opportunities for atlas skills as well as ICT. Opportunities for cross curriular writing throughout with main persuasive writing piece at end of unit.
Each powerpoint has a picture based starter activity where children need to answer literal and inferential questions on whiteboard.
Each lesson is based on a writing outcome and the unit covers a variety of different text types, all based around the one video stimulus.
