Designed for AQA 2016 Biology but would work for any lesson on plants, plant tissues and organs, leaf cross sections etc.
A differentiated cross word and word search and a foldable as well as tick sheets for the AQA Biology 2016 B2 organisation unit.
Non-specific defence system power point with notes for how to use each slide.
Starter with printout if needed for linking up pathogens. Progresses through how pathogens enter the body with printout of body outline if needed. Then goes on to how diseases are transmitted then how the skin, nose, trachea and bronchi and stomach acid protect us from pathogens. As per AQA spec.
A foldable for these four mechanisms is accasible and fun for all abilities and allows them to have something n their notes that they can use to test themselves and each other.
A differentiated crossword of key words is provided with the answers.
A quick 6 question quiz with answers is on the powerpoint and then a plenary of matching up pairs of key words, again with answers.

I took all of these key words from the spec and put pupil friendly definitions for them. Just print the sheets double sided and cut out the cards for key word cards with the word on one side and definition on the other.

KEY WORD CARDS
Print the sheets off double sided on to card, cut out carefully and you have a full set of key word cards with the words on one side and definition on the other. My kids LOVE these and they have made a massive difference to my results. I use them all the time for vocab. The tick sheets can either be used as you teach it or at the end of the topic for revision.

Very simple activity to use before or after doing food tests either at KS3 or KS4.
Cut along all the dotted lines, fold along the thick line then stick the correct words on the outside to create an easy to use foldable to learn and revise which chemicals are used.
On the preview not all of the lines are shown but they are on the downloadable file.
A powerpoint to introduce ideas about how to increase crop yield then a worksheet "box it" for pupils to use with either iPads, computers, the powerpoint or textbooks.
Pupils fill in the boxes with information they have found then compare with each other.

Everything you need for the Human Digestion System - very independent lesson with plenty of resources, starter and plenaries. Not complicated at all and can be used at all levels.
Start by printing out an A2 coloured digestive system poster found on the powerpoint - run a poster challenge where pupils are put into groups and take it in turns to look at the poster outside of the room for 30 second - the whole team have to try and recreate the poster in a certain time - prize for the winner.
The give the pupils the worksheet - have the posters for the digestive system printed and laminated around the room OR upload the powerpoint to iPads or laptops - pupils use these to condense the information on the Digestive System Worksheet.
Then give pupils the enzyme foldable and leave the slide of chemicals in the digestive system on the board - they use this to create a foldable for Protease, Lipase, Carbohydrase, bile and hydrochloric acid.
As a plenary pupils can do word search and/or crossword which are differentiated. Then they can go through the tick list for the topic to review their learning.
Ideas for plenaries are also on the powerpoint. Also a results table for the required practical.
I have done this lesson with all of my GCSE classes and they loved all of the activities. All printed and laminated resources can be saved and used for years to come!
A tick sheet for each topic of the new AQA GCSE Biology 2016 specification with key words at the bottom. I print them of at the end of each lesson or topic and the kids use them to check their progress. It's good for marking books too as you can see which ones they are having trouble with and then ask a specific question on that objective.
These two documents are for the first two topics - Cell Biology and Organisation
An A4 sheet to print in colour and laminate - it basically contains all the information from the specification on bacterial, viral, protist and fungal diseases.
Then give each pupil an A4 foldable sheet. They cut out both boxes, write key points under the flaps and on the second square and then stick the flaps onto the second square.
Can then be used for revision and testing each other. Good for all abilities.
Print off the posters and laminate around the room or leave up on the whiteboard.
Give each pupil the double sided handout which can be cut along the dotted lines to make a revision foldable.
Everything you need to a whole lesson on the heart. Designed for the new AQA GCSE 1-9 spec. Laminate the posters, print of the diagrams and puzzles and leave the pupils to it - very independent lesson that lets you work with needy pupils 1 on 1.
Print the heart poster slides in colour and laminate for one between two. Go through the presentation on heart structure, double circulator system, pacemaker cells and vessels.
Leave the "to do list" on the board and give pupils the laminated posters and diagrams of the vessels, heart and pacemaker location. Also pupils can make a heart with tabs that open up by cutting out the blank heart and sticking the tabs down.
There is then a differentiated crossword and word search to use as a plenary.
Laminate the posters, printed in colour double sided. These can be handed out to share. The pupils get the foldable - cut along the dotted lines and fold along the solid lines. They can then used the laminated sheets to write information under each flap of the foldable.
As a plenary pupils can do the crossword and/or word search for which there is a differentiated version and an answer sheet. A whole lesson on specialised cells sorted!
