I used these key quotes with students before giving them the poem They had to use them as evidence for what they think might have happened to the Duke's Duchess

With this resource, I place key quotes around the classroom. Students then had 10 minutes to find a key quote for each character. Following this, they then zoomed in on a key word and explored connotations.

Each word on every slide has a different coloured/patterned background. There are 100 words in total and they do make an excellent display in the classroom.

This sheet worked really well with my year 11 students. The idea is that they will revise each device and then in the exam they will find these things easier to spot.
