I was inspired by the homework logs by Comenius (TES Member) and have adopted a similar approach. Lots of homework suggestions here!

Plan and resources of alternate pronunciations of C and G teaching alternative pronunciation. Practise part: Ask the children to draw a line down the middle of their whiteboard. Say word or play acorn adventure on Phonics Play, ch sound it out and write it in the correct column. Hope it helps!

These homework activities follow on from the other 2 resources I have. Hope it saves you some time. All are on Word and can be adapted as necessary,

A short example of the plans I use for phonics This one is one I gave to TAs as a booster for split vowel digraphs prior to the screening in small groups. Full phase 5 plans and intervention plans available in my resources

1 X Spelling booklet includes 8 weeks of spellings, look cover write examples of each spelling and then application activities. 1x Grammar booklet includes 8 weeks of Grammar rules, examples and application activities. I suggest each week consists of 2 shorter or 1 longer lessons. These can be used for GaPS lessons, lesson starters, interventions or sent as homework.

Year 2 unit on Little Red Riding Hood based on Talk for Writing structure, using powerpoint to imitate story intially and then innovate from this. Powerpoint is colour coded and you can use actions from Pie Corbett (see website for these, free) or make your own up as long as you are consistent between these. SPAG is included heavily within this including as starters. Word mats are included, which are allowed to be on tables for children to access.

Spelling revision for Year 2 NC Spellings Includes those within phase 5 Includes those within phase 6 Can be done as an intervention , in class or sent home

Year 2 lesson plans for 4 weeks of maths, focusing on place value, addition strategies to build on from Year 1 and subtraction. Introduces written methods including blank number line (with examples) and column addition for higher ability pupils. Should you have any Qs or would like more resource info please message me.

A unit which includes a talk for writing style powerpoint, highlighting key features children need to include (lists, possessive apostrophe expanded Noun phrases, different sentence types, suffix endings etc - all colour coded) for the KS1 expectations. Word mats are supplied at the 3 levels to support children's writing. This unit firstly covers learning the story (a version I have re-written myself to suit the learning needs of my class) where children become familiar with the grammar and spellings within the story and write it out. Then, as they move to innovating the text they will change an element of it, moving on to creating their own story for assessed write by changing more than 1 element of the story and thereby creating a new one. . A non-fiction unit which includes a talk for writing style powerpoint, highlighting key features children need to include (lists, possessive apostrophe expanded Noun phrases, different sentence types, suffix endings etc - all colour coded) for the KS1 expectations. Word mats are supplied at the 3 levels to support children’s writing. Children begin by immitating my version of the elephant piece then they research their own animal, following the structure closely and then writing their own facts under chosen sub-headings but including grammatical features and punctuation etc. Hope this helps

Revision for phonics phase 5 for teacher/TA to follow Useful in preparation for phonics screening. Plans are easy to follow and require minimal resources. 2 lessons include free phonics play games but if there is no access to this they could play buried treasure using words given on the planning.
