This is the fourth lesson in a sequence of lessons on Apartheid. It is aimed at S3/Year 9
Students will work together in groups of five to undertake a research poster on the different forms of resistance to apartheid including Non-Violent Protest, Defiance Campaign, Congress Alliance, Women's Resistance and Armed Resistance.

This is the fiifth lesson in a sequence of lessons on Apartheid. It is aimed at S3/Year 9.
In this lesson, students will complete a case study on Nelson Mandela before choosing another significant figure from the apartheid era to complete a research task on. Research pages from various websites have been attached if your class are not strong independent workers.

This is the first lesson in a unit on China under Mao. It is aimed at an S3/Year 9 class.
In this lesson students are introduced to the ideas of communism and capitalism. They then learn about the rise of the Chinese Communist Party in the early 20th century as well as being introduced to Mao and his views.

This is the third lesson in a unit on Communist China under Mao. It is designed for S3/Year 9.
In this lesson students will learn about the Chinese Civil War, and the strengths and weaknesses of Chiang Kai Shek and Mao. Students need to evaluate why the Communists were able to become victorious.

In this lesson students are introduced to the KMT and Chiang Kai-shek, as well as the conflict between the KMT and the CCP, including the events of the Long March. Students will also complete a practice Evaluate the Usefulness question in preparation for senior studies.

This is a Scottish National 4/5 History lesson on political change in Scotland during WWI. While some of the content is appropriate for experiences of civilians from across Britain, some content and activities are tailored towards the Scottish examination system and experience. As I operate a mixed class, there are activities designed for both National 4 and National 5 included within the lesson.
Students are to work in groups to complete a poster examining political change in Scotland focusing on Red Clydeside (Rent Strikes/40 Hours Strike), a growing political awareness in working class, and the changes to the political parties and their popularity at the time. National 4 students then have empathy tasks to complete while National 5 students have practice exam style questions.

This is a Scottish National 4/5 History lesson on the industrial changes in Scotland during and after WWI. As I operate a mixed class, there are activities designed for both National 4 and National 5 included within the lesson.
Students will undertake a jigsaw task in which they become experts on one of the Scottish industries affected by WWI. They will look at short term impacts (during the war), and long term impacts (after the war). They will also learn about new industries after WWI, and the impact this had on Scotland. Students will then complete practice exam style source questions and a storyboard activity.
This is the second lesson in a sequence of lessons on Apartheid. It is aimed at S3/Year 9. This lesson looks at the early forms of segregation in South Africa prior to the establishment of apartheid policy. Students will learn about four laws which helped create segregation and must then evaluate these policies.
This lesson also introduces a Scottish National 5 skill of the 'How Fully' Source question to prepare students for entering senior school the following year.

This is the sixth lesson in a sequence of lessons on the Holocaust. It is aimed at S3/Year 9.
In this lesson students will learn about Nazi propaganda and censorship. They look at the different types of propaganda and their impacts. One resource the lesson references was created by Ichihistory and is available free for download here:

Students then explain the purpose of propaganda before analysing four anti-Semitic posters from the era.

This is a Scottish National 4/5 History lesson on the persecution of the Jews. This includes a timeline of increasing persecution and the progression of persecution from legal exclusion and violence, to segregation, to extermination. Includes survivor testimony videos.
