This is a guided writing task. It prompts creative writing by using scary images and work banks and examples of effective creative writing. The presentation then goes onto plan for a scary story and includes a review sheet at the end. This resource is best suited to Y7-9 or S1-S3 students. This is a Halloween comprehension passage. It is in line with the SQA National 5 Reading for Understanding, Analysis and Evaluating paper. This resource comes with passage, a variety of questions (in your own words, summarise, language, link) and a marking scheme. It is targeted at S4 or Y10 pupils but could also be used by a decent S3 or Y9 class. The passage is adapted from a Guardian article on Halloween traditions being adopted in Australia. This could be used in clas or set as a homework assignment.
