An A3 poster with a set of comprehensive workshop health and safety rules. The rules include machines and hot working equipment. The poster could be easily adapted to include rules specific to your workshops.
A homework menu containing a selection of tasks that can be used to support information learnt about engineering products or bicycles. This could be used on a variety of engineering courses.
This resource can be easily adapted and modified to include more or different topics, suitable for your specification.
Originally used with KS5 AQA Design Engineering this activity could be adapted to suit a range of KS4/5 engineering lessons about material properties.
A simple start activity which involves pupils matching each material property to the correct definition.
The definitions included are from Unit 1 of the AQA Design Engineering Tech-Level but others could be easily added.

Pupils have to match the different picture cards representing engineering sectors to the corresponding name card. This resource was originally designed for the old KS4 BTEC Engineering Award Unit One exam, but has been improved to include a large range of different sectors. This could be used to promote different roles in engineering.
Due to the huge files sizes this resource could not be uploaded directly to the TES website, however the word doc contains links to google drive, where the files can be downloaded.

This work booklet allow pupils to evidence practical work for unit two of the WJEC Vocational Award in Engineering. This has been adapted from the exemplar material provided on the WJEC website.
Unit Two requires pupils to produce an engineering product (such as a lamp) from drawings produced by the centre. If you have access to computers the template can be easily edited in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat or Powerpoint. If you don’t have computers you can always edit and then print in A3.
Centres should adapt this booklet to suit their own assignments.
A resource used a ‘sorter’ starter activity for a range of different engineering courses at both level three and level two. (Unit 5 Engineering Materials BTEC Level Two, Unit 3 WJEC Engineering, Unit 1 Materials, Science & Technology AQA Design Engineering Tech-Level etc). Pupils have to use the cards to create the acronyms of common thermoplastics, this can be easily extended by asking them to think of the full name of each plastic.
Can be easily adapted to to ensure all thermoplastics in your specification are covered.

A revision clock is a innovative method of getting pupils to split their time up in a lesson or at home when revising and to break larger topics down into manageable chunks. Pupils have a limited time to write down facts about a given topic. In this case the hour is split into the six thinking hats. Pupils would start at the first hat and would have 10 minutes to fill that section before moving on. This resource can be used to revise the six thinking hats or can be used to perform a quick yet effective product analysis. Use this tool to help ensure you have a quick paced lesson.
The Thinking Hats are a useful product analysis tool can be used for a variety of technology based subjects including Design Technology & Engineering. Is is useful at all Key Stages.
There are two file types available and can be easily edited to ensure that it is suitable for your subject/specification.

This is a set of six mock exams and mark schemes that are designed to test pupils knowledge after the teaching of each Performance Outcome for Unit One. For example Mock 1 covers only PO1 but Mock 5 Covers PO1-PO5. Mock 6 also covers all five POs. The mocks have been built on past papers and mark allocations from AQA. The majority of the questions are different to the past papers available form AQA. They could be used as end of topic assessments, end of term assessment or as a resource for exam style questions.
They have been designed to look professional and as similar to the real exam as possible to get pupils used to seeing the exam.
The documents were created on Word for Mac so the format may need tweaking if opened on a PC, however the PDF files are also available.
These mocks & mark schemes will save you hours of planning!
