This unit goes alongside the AQA spec B, unit one text book. It is the entire unit of lessons on the origins of the cold war.

This is an entire Year 9, Scheme of Work on 1960s Britain. It looks at topics such as women, drugs, music, counter & sub-culture etc.

This activity enables students to understand the concept of a dictatorship, by planning how they would control people in their own dictatorship. It allows students to grasp the importance of factors such as fear, threats, secret police, informing etc.

This is a group based lesson that I prepared for an observation, so has vast amounts of differentiation in it. The students look at how young people used music to rebel against Victorian ideologies, their parents and protest against war, racism etc.

Students will understand how Hitler used propaganda to help him control Germans. They will analyse Nazi propaganda to help them understand the power of propaganda.

In this lesson, students compete with each other in groups to see who can solve the mystery or Thomas Becket's murder first.

This is a court case designed for the students to act out. It works well to give the G&T students the key parts of the court case (I always give me highest ability student the role of judge, as they have to co-ordinate the rest). The rest of the students act as the jury. They decide, based on the evidence whether Capone was a gangster or a business man. This lesson introduces the idea of appeasement to students. There are various activities in the power point which will enables students to evaluate whether they agree with Chamberlain's policy of appeasement or not.

This powerpoint introduces students to Stalin and looks at the methods he used to control the USSR. Students will use information provided on key fators such as purges, cult of personality and the secret police to prepare a a project.

This is a market place activity. All of the instructions and information is provided within the powerpoint and the information sheets. It looks at a variety of factors that enabled Hitler to become chancellor in 1933.

This overview focuses on the following modules: Paper 1 - Crime & Punishment & Whitechapel, Paper 2 - The Cold War & Elizabeth I, Paper 3 - The USA & Vietnam. Although it focuses on these modules, it is generic and could easily be modified for your own units. It shows the question stem for each type of question and the amount of time the students should be spending on each question.

The lesson introduces students to key events in Muhammad's life and encourages them to think of what the key turning point in Islam was.

This is a model answer I have written and colour coded to help students studying AQA History Spec' B. It shows them what knowledge and skills they need to employ for an A* answer.

My year 11 students were struggling to get to grips with the chronology and change and continuity of punishments, law enforcement and crimes from Anglo-Saxons to Stuarts period, so I made them this grid, which they have found very helpful.

This resource was made for lower-ability GCSE students who are struggling to get their heads around the structure and requirements for the 16 mark question on Edexcel Spec B. I have used it recently with my own year tens and saw a big improvement in many of the lower ability students' grades after using the scaffold. It is always useful for all students who are attempting the question for the first time.

This lesson is a comparison lessons between Anglo-Saxon and Norman methods of justice. Students will need to have an understanding of Anglo-Saxon justice in order to fully access the lesson. It is fully differentiated throughout and included more able tasks. A variety of activities are employed throughout.

It is meant as a revision powerpoint, so is better for students who have already studied this unit, and need to help with their revision. It looks in detail at each of the causes and events of the outbreak of WWII, and allows students to take notes, and watch GCSE Bitesize videos to enhance their knowledge. This was designed specifically for students studying AQA Spec, B: Hitler's Foreign Policies (it details all of the subject knowledge they need for their exam. It would be good for any students studying origins of WWII as well.
