An exploration of Shell Shock - including Sassoon’s The Survivors, some details on Mental Cases as well as tasks and a comparative essay structure and example paragraphs looking at links between Disabled & Mental Cases Powerpoint have lots of images and are laid out clearly and attractively, styled to fit the rest of my war poetry resources. I like to make sure my students are able to understand the context the poems were written in as well as appreciating the literary skill.

A teaching or revision exercise looking at the skills for writing to argue/persuade. Task 1 a silent debate (although this can easily be altered) looking at examples & marking. Task 2 to create own work in response to a Q. Rhetorical devices also feature for discussion/development. Easily developed and altered for use with different Qs etc.
