This lesson was originally a two part lesson forYear 7 students to make a model or 3D picture of the Harimandir Sahib (The Golden Temple of Amritsar). It includes a worksheet about how to be a good team worker as well as full instructions for the task. Students loved creating these models and it taught them teamwork skills and information about the Golden Temple. It is suitable for pupils from KS2-KS4 (Aged 7-16).

This lesson was originally a Yr 9 90 minute lesson but can be any KS3 or KS4 (Ages 11-16) lesson and shortened very easily. It goes through the six main religious beliefs about God and then an introduction to atheism and humanism. It includes a video clip, discussion and written activities, definitions, a quiz and a plenary. Students reacted very well to this lesson and it taught them that you don’t have to have religious beliefs to be a good person.

This is a 500 word Intent statement for the new RSE & Health Curriculum but can also be used for a more general PSHE and Citizenship statement. This can be included in handbooks, curriculum plans, school websites, parent consultations and school prospectus. All you have to do is add your School Name and it is good to go!

This was originally a 60 minute Year 10 lesson to introduce the world of work and preparing for job interviews. It covers body language, dress, how to give a good impression at an interview, body language and some suggested careers. There is a worksheet to accompany it with this lesson but it can be used without it. This lesson is suitable for older KS3-KS4 pupils (13-18 years old) and as part of their PSHE, Careers or Work Experience session in a tutor time. It can be easily shortened or lengthened and has worked well with my students.

This is a worksheet that can be used as part of a lesson about how Martin Luther King was inspired by Jesus’ teachings from the Bible. It focuses on 4 key Bible verses and asks pupils to explain how Martin Luther King Jr acted on those Biblical teachings. A simple but effective worksheet to ensure pupils understand the influence of his Christian beliefs on his work. This is suitable for KS2 - KS4 (Ages 7-18).

This is a 60 minute lesson on religious symbols which goes through each of the major 6 religious symbols for pupils to explore, copy down, colour and learn about. It can be used for KS3 or KS4 (Aged 11-16) to give students a better understanding of the religion. It includes video clips, discussion tasks, written tasks and a quiz to check learning. It is simple to edit if you require a shorter or longer lesson.

It can be used for pupils to cut out, match up and stick in their books, can be printed on card to become a reusable match up starter activity or it can be used for display or creative work purposes. This is suitable for KS1-KS4 (5 - 18 years old) and can be used in tutor time as part of the cultural diversity part of the PSHE programme or as part of an Religious Education or Citizenship lesson. This is a full lesson on an introduction to Hinduism covering their beliefs in god, festivals, beliefs, symbols, temple, worship etc. It includes a couple of short video clips and some discussion and written questions for students to complete. It has some extension tasks and is suitable for use in the classroom with no photocopying required. It is suitable for KS2, KS3 and KS4 (Ages 11-18) and takes an introductory look at one of the world’s most popular religions.

This is a selection of 25 lateral thinking tasks for discussion, debate, tutor time, PSHE or lessons. Students have really improved their discussion and lateral thinking skills as a result of these activities. They can be used to improve communication, debating, listening and thinking skills as part of the PSHE or Skills curriculum or part of a tutor time activity or assembly.

This is a collection of 20 riddles that can be used with tutor groups from the ages of 9-18. It could be used to aid discussions and debates and to improve communication and thinking skills as part of PSHE or SMSC provision.

This is a PowerPoint with different moral questions to make students think. For example, “if you borrow a million pounds are you a millionaire?”, “Can you get lost if you don’t know where you are going.” These are great discussion questions for assemblies, debates or citizenship/PSHE/SMSC provision. They will improve communication skills in tutor time sessions or as starters to lessons. They are appropriate for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (11-18 years old).

This is a 15 minute assembly, PSHE, tutor time session which covers what terrorism is, what the opinions of young people are about terrorism and focuses on what to do in a terrorist attack. It mentions the Prevent Strategy and has discussion questions and no written tasks. This was originally taught to Year 10 (14-15 year olds) and students reacted well to this presentation. It gives them advice, further information and support and helplines if they need further guidance. This is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 students (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grade 6-12) but it should be noted that this content should be discussed sensitively with students. There are two downloaded video clips which will never disappear. This could be shortened or lengthened according to the session and it can be used for tutor time, assembly, PSHE, Citizenship or British Values lesson or an informative look at what students should do in a terrorist attack as a whole school message. Students reacted very well to this session and lots of interesting discussions came from it.
