This is a ppt used to introduce drugs - students were then put into five groups and each given one of the drug information posters (adapted from a resource on TES - thank you!) to carry out marketplace activity. Worked very well with students supporting/teaching each other with very little need for input from teacher - ideal!!

This is a set of resources that I created/adapted for use with a Yr 8 class who were revising photosynthesis. Included is a ppt that I use with the class - getting them to write answers on mini whiteboards as I go through it. Summary worksheet that I use as a starter, then a puzzle to use as a plenary (print out slides onto A4 sheets then cut them out and give them to groups to complete)

This was done over two lessons - the first lesson was spent planning the investigation and naming the variables - see differentiated planning sheet - my pupils are all grouped according to ability (they had to come up with a method of measuring the energy content of a bit of food in groups) I then showed them the experimental set up so that the next lesson they could come in and start working straight away. A third lesson was spent writing up and evaluating - high ability group had to write up independently - low ability were given lots of the resources attached.

Contains a ppt which takes you through an investigation into which indigestion tablets are best at neutralising acids. First lesson spent carrying out practical and second lesson writing this up using the attached worksheets. Three worksheets used for inclusion of wide variety of students within the class

Lots of opportunity for assessment, group work etc. Some resources have been adapted from Upd8 - the news story used in the starter activity is differentiated for lower/higher ability students - this lesson kept a very difficult yr 10 all on task!

This lesson was taught at the end of a topic on rocks and weathering. The Rock cycle was briefly talked about then students were given task sheet and image on Slide 10 of ppt to use in order to construct a comic strip of the life of Robbie the Rock - the students really got into this and produced some very funny cartons - all showed really good comprehension of cycle at the end with hardly any teacher input! Ideal!!
