These music sessions have been designed specifically from our Ks1 curriculum and engineered to benefit and inspire music education in a SEN setting. Delivered on PowerPoint with separate notes and activity sheets they really engage in a fun way with children of all abilities and increase a teacher’s subject knowledge in the interrelated dimensions of music naturally as the program progresses.
Please follow the lessons in numerical order throughout the course as the children learn and experience all dimensions whilst having much fun along the way. The final lessons are a collective collaboration of writing and performing their own African chant where progress can be measured, and a real sense of achievement felt by all whilst demonstrating what they have learned in music.
Session 1 Beat
Session 2 takes an overview with great links pictures, discussion and debate at music from the start to where we are today and how important music is in our lives. The notes guide us through the powerpoints with super questions etc. Leading to a deeper understanding of the history of music.
In this final session we look at the development of music in the 20th century and include modern composers such as Hanz Zimmer, Mike Oldfield, Vangelis and Ennio Morricone. The notes once again prompt some great debate and discussion with the class.
In session 17 we look at the modern era with the invention of film and a change in technique. A composer we look at is Debussy. This is another explosion of culture in history and music. Great links and good debate and discussion brought to life in the classroom with the notes that accompany this session.
A look at the instruments within the orchestra and there contribution. In this session we look at the piano, synthesizer and guitar. Great links, pictures and notes to question, discuss and debate.
