Another original short story written by me in a child friendly vocabulary set in 1895, Jayne, the young lady of the house is attending a ball in the manor and waiting patiently for a young suiter to appear. There are various characters in the story and this could be used as an introduction to a long novel, Shakespearian or Dickensian literature in preparation for Grammar/ Secondary school. There are pages to read and discuss so I have included a powerpoint presentation followed by comprehension questions, writing activities and drawing conclusions. There is dictionary work and internet research.

Are you ever stuck for ideas to help promote the learning of spellings? This 20 page PDF file consists of a variety of activities children will enjoy doing to help them learn their spellings. They are suitable activities for the entire primary school. The file can be printed out and each page laminated to use in class. Once laminated they will last forever. The activities provide fun things to do for the children. Activities include alphabetical order, vowels and consonants, writing silly sentences with spelling words, creating pictures with hidden words, creating word searches, computer activities, sentence construction, story and poetry writing, games, opposites and rhyming words.
