Over a decade of teaching experience to KS3 and KS4 secondary school pupils, of varying needs and abilities, and 8 years as a Director of Learning for Science. My resources have been produced with passion for the job that I do, making the subject accessible and relevant to all. The majority of my PowerPoints are designed to incorporate successful strategies from Doug Lemov's Teach Like A Champion. I hope my resources will save colleagues precious time in the planning of their own lessons.

Biology revision - Body defences and virus life cycle worksheet

Scanned from my sketchbook. This worksheet provides a scenario with associated imagery for pupils to apply their knowledge of a range of concepts to completing. These include: microscopy calculations, body defences and the life cycle of a virus (lytic and lysogenic). Extension questions can also be given by the teacher with reference to the scenario e.g. What symptoms would Chris experience if this were a _____ virus? How could he be treated? Tips: Replace the names of the characters with pupils in your own class by putting a sticky note over the top and writing in :) After printing, trim the side and bottom for the perfect fit for pupil exercise books :)

This document includes a series of commonly asked questions at GCSE (as well as mark schemes), edited to change scenarios and allow for printing on as fewer pages as possible. Can be used for revision or as weekly homeworks. Questions focus on key concepts/essential content assessed across all three Science disciplines. Such as: Atomic structure and subatomic particles Electron configurations Isotopes The periodic table Cells and their structures Microscopes Enzymes Forces and motion Energy transfers Potential energy Note: If you would like to track pupils’ performance in relation to content over time, my ‘Key concepts in GCSE Science’ bundle can be used alongside a Question Level Analysis of your class(es) on Edexcel (i.e. RAG rating performance in different areas over time).

Science revision - analysing and interpreting data

This booklet contains 20 pages of exam questions across all three Science disciplines. Questions are initially annotated to support pupils with how to go about answering the question, followed by scaffolding for answers. Similar style questions then follow for pupils to attempt without the scaffolding (as would be the case in exams). Model answers are also included in places and mark schemes can be found at the end of the document. The following questions styles are covered within the document (which can be printed in booklet form): Scatter graphs e.g. enzyme action, potential difference-current-resistance Bar charts e.g. non-communicable diseases Graphs relating to core practicals e.g. acceleration with trolleys Questions where more than one graph must be referred to e.g. carbon dioxide and temperature over time, the menstrual cycle Tabulated data with questioning related to proportional relationships
