This is a useful resource that I have used both at KS3 and KS4 for revision of the novel Lord of the Flies. You can use it for a revision lesson or for home study. A lesson on the poem ‘Exposure’ by Wilfred Owen. Useful for the GCSE AQA Power and Conflict anthology and also AQA A-level Up the Line to Death anthology. The lesson has a ‘do now’ activity, context section, summary of the poem and then each line and stanza is broken down and analysed in depth. At the end of the lesson there are some review resources and exemplar essay questions.

This is a full lesson based on an extract from Act 3, Scene 4 - Banquo’s ghost. There is a ‘do now’ activity and a model what/how/why paragraph based the the extract. Useful for revision. I’ve used it today and have told my Year 11s this is my prediction for the the real AQA English literature paper 1 exam.

This poem is a part of the ‘Up the Line to Death’ poetry anthology and is used extensively in AQA’s English literature A-level, WW1 and Its Aftermath.
