This is a very useful resource that I have used in lessons as a starter and for revision homework which is based on each of the acts in ‘Macbeth’. These pyramids are inspired by Kate Jones. They are differentiated so students can tackle the easier revision questions if they wish or the more challenging ones. The aim for the students is to achieved the highest points score at the end of the challenge.

A visual aid showing the hierarchy of power in Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’. I have used this with my classes and it has given them a good understanding of how ‘The Divine Right of Kings’ works and who’s who in the play in terms of their position in the play’s hierarchy.

There are a variety of exam options based on the possible variations of the questions - 1) story based on the picture/write a description 2) description based on the picture/write a story 3) description based on the picture/write a description 4) story based on the picture/write a story. All of these options have been a part of the exams in June and November re-sits since 2017, obviously they are original questions that haven’t been on the exams.

A simple but effective sheet on which students can analyse their own analysis to enable them to see what points on the mark scheme they are hitting. I have used this successfully in my lessons for a number of years, photocopying the sheet on to A3 and ensuring the students stick their essays in the middle before annotating their own analysis.
