A complete lesson that covers the description and interpretation of population pyramids. Objectives are linked to the demands of the new GCSE AQA 9-1 Syllabus. It is a fully resourced standalone lesson but follows on from the demographic transition lesson. No other resources are required and worksheets of up to date pyramids for annotation are included. I have also included a past exam question. Aimed at GCSE, this would also be suitable for KS3 as the activities can differentiate by outcome.
A set of knowledge organisers and revision summaries that cover the Resources Overview of Section C Paper 2 of the AQA GCSE Syllabus. The content is summarised concisely to allow for effective revision.
Two versions are included to allow for differentiation. Crucially the simpler version does not dumb down the vocabulary that is likely to be used in exam questions, allowing students to access the paper. A complete lesson with supporting resources to deliver the case study content of the desert biome option of the AQA 9-1 GCSE Course. No other resources are necessary , simply print off the supporting worksheets. The resource makes reference to the Oxford Textbook but a double sided Knowledge Organiser has been included which means that a textbook is not required. Also includes a scaffolded exam question which covers the assessment requirements of the longer questions. The scaffolded question provides a model answer for students. The 2018 examiners report identifies this area as one where students struggled to apply their case study to the question.
Can be easily adapted to other syllabi as command words are the same, will simply need to alter the mark tariff on the longer question.
