This is a weeks unit of work around The Everywhere Bear. By the end of the week, the children will write their own alternative part of the story.

English planning for the first few weeks of Year 1 based on the text ‘The same but different too’. Focus on simple sentence structure, adjectives, simple character description.
The children end the week by using their descriptions to make the character that they have designed - this could be extended by the children orally rehearsing sentences about their character and writing these down.
