This bundle contains 3 lessons (approximately 6 hours of learning) and is fully resourced, although any approved A Level textbook (any board) and/or access to online resources is important. These are challenging lessons which require the students to fully analyse Elizabeth’s foreign policy and draw conclusions. They contained a wide range of varied tasks and video clips which ensure that students are stretched and challenged sufficiently for success at A level.

This assessment and these lessons have been created to help determine the understanding of students and embed relevant skills necessary to approach KS3 history.
It is recommended that the students complete the baseline test; the results are recorded but not shared. The 6 lessons are taught and then the test is repeated and progress monitored. This will help for planning and differentiation for the year.
This also contains a 34 page work booklet with 6 hoursof activities forstudents to use eitherin class or for home learning - useful for students who are working from home. No other resource needed.

This booklet complements the scheme of learning on ‘What is History?’ also available. It can also be used as a stand alone resource. The work booklet focuses on the skills needed for a successful transition from Year 6 to 7 in history and considers the discipline of history through sources; interpretations; chronology and other second order concepts. All of the necessary information is in the booklet/activities/spaces for students to write. This is a very useful resource either to use in class or for students working from home or for holiday work.

Based on Pearson text book, however created and resourced in a way that no text book is needed.

This lesson covers the case study for key topic 1 for the new EDEXCEL GCSE History breadth study Migrants in Britain. It looks at the city of York under the Vikings. This contain all of the knowledge that students need for the exam; a practice causation question, and opportunities for discussion and evaluation throughout. This case study should be taught at the end of key topic 1 - Migration in Medieval England.
If all activities are covered the duration of the lesson will be 2 hours. Suitable for all ability groups.

This is the first lesson on the reign of Elizabeth I following on from the lessons on the Mid Tudor Crisis (bundle available). This lesson considers Elizabeth’s challenges when she comes to the throne and the legacy left for her by Mary. It focuses on the skill of evaluation, and is taught through the use of a variety of activities and clips. Students are expected to complete a piece of evaluative writing at the end.
