Lesson aimed at top set Y10 but can easily be adapted. Lesson looking at different accommodation types and using the preterite and imperfect tenses together. Potential for at least 2 lessons worth of content. C easily build in more whole class questioning, whiteboard recall and retrieval practice. Prior learning: preterite tense formation; imperfect tense formation; holiday vocabulary (countries, transport, activities). Pupils had already written an extended description of a past holiday (90 words) which they go back to this lesson and improve with a more detailed description of accomodation.
