A creative writing lesson based around winning the world cup. Lesson was made during the world cup in the summer but is still useful for interesting students, particularly boys. Lesson is differentiated using aim/challenge/super challenge. Aimed at KS3 but can be adapted for older students.

Persuasive writing lesson based on Live Aid and Comic Relief. Differentiated using the GCSE mark scheme. Students read an extract from Bob Geldof’s diary which sparked the song 'Do They Know It’s Christmas Time?, discuss the impact of the song and how persuasive writing techniques have been used. Students will eventually create their own piece of persuasive writing. Lesson planned using the TEEP structure.

A fun lesson introducing students to the language of Shakespeare. Includes a glossary for students to use to translate. Students translate Shakespearean words into modern English and vice versa. Tasks and questions are differentiated throughout and there is a help sheet to support lower ability students with structuring their answer. Lesson uses the poems ‘Poppies’ and ‘Remains’ and students are asked to think about the key themes, similarities and differences and then eventually answer a differentiated exam style question (3 question choices.)
