Students read an extract from Bob Geldof’s diary which sparked the song 'Do They Know It’s Christmas Time?, discuss the impact of the song and how persuasive writing techniques have been used. A lesson studying how Steinbeck uses animal imagery to describe Lennie. Differentiated using the GCSE mark scheme. Aimed at lower-middle ability year 9 students but can be easily adapted for higher ability students.

A fun lesson introducing students to the language of Shakespeare. Includes a glossary for students to use to translate. Students translate Shakespearean words into modern English and vice versa.
