There are statements on 2X cards each, which use one of the techniques above.
These cards were created so that my learners could play a ‘match a pair’ game. Turn all of the cards over on the table. Get the learners to take it in turns to turn over two cards, if the statements match the technique then they ‘win’ that pair of cards. If they don’t match, then they turn them back over and another player gets to choose two cards. Continue until all the cards are matched.
These can also be used as flash cards or revision cards and the cards are double sided, with a colourful polka dot design on the opposite side.
Also attached, are a set of cards ( buyer to cut out) with each of the following persuasive devices names written on them. You can get your learners to place the correct statement cards under each of these headings.

54 Flash card prompts which will help to spark your learners’ imaginations.
These flash cards contain pictures from a number of different fictional genres: gothic, western, sci-fi, historical, romance, modern and fantasy.
Instructions: Print out the cards double sided. One side will have the picture prompts on and the other a zig zag pattern. Cut the cards out and laminate them. Get your learners to pick one card each and write a story or description by using the pictures as a stimulus.

The learner will pick one of the characters from a book they are reading and then create a Facebook profile for that character. They will fill in all of the information that they know about them from the book and add other additional presumed information of their own.
They will also write a status that sums up what that character is feeling at a particular moment in the book.

Functional Skills English Level 1 - Reading Assessment Compare and Contrast Question. PPT & Tasks
A PPT aimed at level 1 learners. This will prepare them to answer the reading assessment’s compare and contrast question. This question is worth 10 – 13% of the papers overall mark, dependent on the examination board used.
