This is the first three week’s of a year 2 English scheme of work, designed to work through the second half of the autumn term. The scheme includes an 80-slide Powerpoint, which can be used in conjunction with the 31-page workbook. The workbook can either be printed out and used in its entirety, or selected sheets can be used as an ink-saver. An answer book is included. Contents of the workbook are: Spellings: The ‘-dge’ word ending, the '-ge- word ending, words which used a ‘c’ for an ‘s’. Punctuation: Capital letters for proper nouns, question marks, exclamation marks. Grammar: The past and present tenses, nouns and adjectives, expanded noun phrases. Reading: Comprehensions on The Gunpowder Plot (Non-fiction recount of the story), Remembrance Day (A poem), Anti-Bulling Week (A story focused around bullying.) Writing: Writing a letter, describing a war memorial, writing a list of advice for someone who is being bullied. All reading comprehension questions are based on the format of the Key Stage 1 SATS tests, both paper 1 and paper 2. The work is divided into three weeks of learning, with an aspect of each element of English each week. The writing activities are linked with the subject of the reading comprehensions. This is a continuation from week 1 of this scheme, which is available for free download from my TES shop (although week 1 is also included in this download.) Weeks 4-6 will be available shortly.

A guide to key mathematical vocabulary terms which are used on the foundation papers for the three major exam boards, such as sum, product, multiple, factor etc. This sheet was designed to help year 11 students who are aiming for a level 4 or for post-16 students who are re-sitting their Maths GCSE revise and recap these key words. There are 20 questions using the terms, including some exam-style ones which are based on questions from the three major exam boards. There is an answer sheet included.

An extract from the Hunger Games with questions based on those from paper 1 of the AQA GCSE English Language paper. I used this activity for 1-1 tutoring pupils who are aiming for a level 4. The tasks are designed to help students with the wording of the questions without the burden of a difficult text.

3 worksheets of word problems for year 3. Each question has a question aimed at an expected year 3 level and then a (b) part question designed to be more challenging. There is a dedicated multiplication sheet, a dedicated division sheet and then one which uses mixed operations, including addition and subtraction. Times tables used are 2, 3, 5, 8 and 10 and there are also some question which require learners to multiply larger numbers by 10. Each sheet has an answer sheet included.

A step-by-step guide on composing a twelve bar Blues piece using Sibelius, with extension tasks. It includes: Table of Contents A guide on how to write for drum kit/drum set using Sibelius. It has a guide to keyboard shortcuts for Sibelius. A how-to guide for selecting and copy and pasting passages. A detailed, step-by-step guide for composing a bass line and an effective blues melody, including information on how to incorporate syncopation. This is to encourage supported independent learning for G.C.S.E Music students. Produced with AQA in mind, but useful for any G.C.S.E course. The extension sections go into more detail on how to develop ideas for a variety of elements of music, such as texture. This is designed to stretch more able learners.

Original Reading comprehension sheets with optional extension tasks on the Egyptians. They are aimed at year 3 and 4 (P4 and P5) and contain a variety of questions designed to develop retrieval, analysis, inference and choice skills. Table of contents: There are 4 text types. Information text on the Pyramids. An imagined interview with Howard Carter. An instruction text on mummification. A story extract on Egyptian childhood/home life.

A powerpoint summarising the strengths and weaknesses of Trotsky and Stalin with accompanying source work and question sheet. This was produced for teaching the EdExcel iGCSE Dictatorship in the USSR 1924-53 module, but could be used for other purposes.

A summary of the differences between the Bolsheviks and Mensheviks with some reflection questions. This can be used for GCSE/iGCSE candidates.

2 presentations and supporting worksheets that takes you through Stalin's tactics to overcome Trotsky. Includes source work and internet links. This was originally made for the EdExcel iGCSE Dictatorship and conflict in the USSR, 1924–53 module and there are exam style questions for this qualification. However, this could also be adapted and used for similar courses. The second lesson looks at the other leadership contenders, Kamenev, Zinoviev and Bukharin.

An overview timeline of key events in Russia from 1924-1938 with in-built links to videos and information and some reflection questions. This was produced to introduce the EdExcel iGCSE Dictatorship and Conflict in the USSR 1924-1953 module, but could be used for other purposes.

These are original reading comprehensions aimed at years 5 and 6 and follow on from part 5 of my reading comprehension series. Questions are based on questions from the new style year 6 SATS papers. They are written by a specialist History teacher and examiner. Table of Contents 3 text types: 1. Chapter 6 of an original time-travel story set in the time of Robin Hood. 2. A non-fiction text about horses 3. A short story about honesty that could be used in a PSHE or RE focus. These sheets can be used a test, for guided reading or a stimulus for a history or PSHE lesson.

Worksheet for year 4 on rounding numbers to the nearest ten, hundred and thousand. Split into 3 different levels (bronze, silver, gold) and with a deeper learning question at the end. As the silver and gold levels require rounding to the nearest ten on three-digit numbers and the nearest hundred on four-digit numbers, prior knowledge of these numbers would be helpful. This could also be used for a homework task. Each section can be cut up separately as an ink-saver. There is also an answer sheet included.

Information on the main political parties and their aims, including Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish parties. Discussion activities for small groups and whole class activities. Also information on some of the key features of our democracy, such as universal suffrage and a discussion activity on why those things are important.

Two texts and reading comprehension questions with answers that can be used together or separately to practise comprehension skills and for the Key Stage 1 SATS. Texts are a fiction story (a version of the Ugly Duckling) and a non-fiction text about electricity. This could also be used a practice test for pupils to sit in class. Questions are based on the 2016 SATS paper and government sample materials.
