This is the first essay students will complete after studying the rebellions of Henry VII so they will be comparing the threat of the dynastic and economic rebellions faced by Henry VII. Students have done very well after this lesson in their essay and it lead to greater understanding of how to write the essay.

Whole lesson plus all resources needed for teaching **** ‘How fair was the Treaty of Versailles on Germany?’****
Students first look at the end of WW1 and how the Treaty of Versailles came about.
Then, students analyse the aims of the Big Three, using role play, sorting them into
Punish Germany and get revenge
Weaken Germany so it cannot threaten Europe again
Reward/compensate the Allies
Students will then look at the terms of the treaty using a video, and decide if those terms were fair or unfair by sorting card statements (differentiated!).

Rise of Hitler to Dictator
How did Hitler rise to dictator?
Suitable for teaching 11-14s the rise of Hitler.
Students first look at the difference between a democracy and a dictatorship, understanding the ideological differences, before looking at how Hitler became a dictator. Students will look at the 5 key events leading to Hitler’s rise:

Hindenburg dies
Other factors
Students will do this by using information sheets (provided) on differentiated worksheets.
