La Maison A French group activity to help describe your house. Décrit sa maison How does it work? First, give everyone a copy of the text. Learners start by filling in the literacy sheet on this. Next, randomly give out the pictures which you (of course in all that spare time you’ve got…) have printed and cut up. Learners then use the text as a basis for writing by working as a group. They can then present their writing to the class at the end. The class try to work out which property they have described and give reasons why. Alternatively… not in the mood for group work? Give each learner a picture to do the writing individually. Or even in pairs! Bon courage…

Looking for GCSE French jobs consolidation? This is a great work booklet to develop listening, reading and writing. Tasks include picture and word matching vocabulary presentation, puzzles, reading comprehensions, scaffolded writing, a couple of listening activities and independent writing tasks with cues. If you have introduced GCSE learners to the French jobs topic, this is the ideal resource for you. You can use it to consolidate prior learning. Class survey. Sports would have been introduced first. Use the survey to practise the question 'Tu aimes ... ?' plus different sports. There is a variety of answers that can be given to the questions with different symbols for each. Pupils mark the answers on the grid using these symbols. Model the conversation and how to do the survey before the whole class does it. Extension work in the grey sections encourages further development of conversational language. Check learning with short performances of the conversations and/or follow up with writing up of some conversations.

Starts basic for Y7 with vocabulary based sheets/word search etc and by Y11 they have some multiple choice reading comprehension to do. If you can’t fit these in to your SoW, why not use them for French club, HW or just for keen beans!
