Comic Strip Art

This is a very fun lesson in which I spent half a day creating with my class. It involves learning about the artist Roy Lichenstein while creating a fun comic strip like creation. This is a perfect 'end of term' activity and children genuinely had a great day engaging with this type of art. The resource includes a colourful, detailed notebook, which contains lots of links to video clips and details on how to make this creation (step-by-step). It also includes a lesson plan. World Cup 2022 Tasks and Activities

Perfect for the run-up to and during the Fifa World Cup, this pack includes worksheets and fun activities and a teacher’s guide to assist you during your lessons. Included in this pack: Pass it like Portugal: a fun task that involves children recording the points on an axis. They won’t even realise they’re doing a Math activity as it’s to record the football passes of the Portuguese team. Pass it like___: This can be used in small groups or as an early finisher task. Following on from the above activity, the children can plot the points of a team of their choice and give the activity to a peer to solve. Dream Team: young students need to form opinions on what makes a good player and be able to discuss their opinions. Creating a class discussion on the players in the World Cup and then allow children to create their ultimate dream team from different players in the World Cup. Dream Jersey – the children can comment on and discuss the jerseys in the World Cup. Talk about their likes/dislikes on the patters, colours, shapes etc and then create their own dream jersey for their dream team. This would make a lovely display also. Fact File – using the internet, allow the children to research 4 players of their choice and to create a fact file on them. This could be done as a homework task also. Teacher Guides & Answer Sheets Each activity comes with a teacher guide to suggest ways to complete each task. There is an answer sheet as well for the Maths activity for self-assessment or peer assessmenent. Multiplication Revision Game Year 4/5

Multiplication Revision Game Year 4/5

(0)
This is a game I play frequently with my class at the end of the multiplication topic/year to check assessment. The picture as the cover image shows the lower ability game. This resource is differentiated for higher abilities and middle abilities. This game works exactly like X's and O's, except children must solve the question within the box of their choice, get the answer correct before they can put an X or an O in. My class absolutely love this game, and the higher ability game provides a great challenge with *missing number multiplication *two-digit multiplication *multiplying decimals. A really successful game, which is really useful come the end of the year. Please leave a review and check out my other resources: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/Morrisr9
Reception High Frequency Words Game

Reception High Frequency Words Game

(0)
This resource is a fun way to encourage children to read the high frequency words in Reception. They will need to be cut out, with the elephant stuck to the back of the word and then laminated. Once they're done once, you'll have them forever. It consists of a selection of the high frequency words at Reception level, with a colourful background to keep them interested. You will need to print two copies of this resource in order to play the game. I played it in groups of 4: *Give each child in the group an even amount of cards. *Instruct them to leave them all in front of them (elephant facing up). *The first child must place their first card down, sound it out/read it. *The next child repeats etc until there is two of the same words placed one after the other. *They all must race to say SNAP if two cards sitting on top of each other are the same word. *The person to say it first, gets all of the cards in the pile and they begin again. This resource can be used as an extension activity for early finishers, or as a revision tool at the end of the year, or even as your weekly game to expose children to these words more frequently. Mental Maths Support Booklet- Year 3

***A 20 PAGE MENTAL MATHS SUPPORT BOOKLET*** This is a booklet I created to support a year 3 child with their mental maths. I am a private tutor and a class teacher so I like to have 'go to' booklets and resources to use for my tutoring sessions. This booklet is aimed to bring a year 3 child up to speed with mental maths for term 1. However, it's a good starting point for any child in KS2 who is not confident in their mental maths. The objectives covered in this booklet are: Use place value and number facts to add and subtract numbers Subtract by counting up Learn to count in 3’s and 4’s and know the 3x and 4x table. Add and subtract any two digit numbers by counting on in 10s and 1s or by using partitioning Perform place value subtractions without a struggle (536-30=506) Know multiples of 10 with a total of 100 Know pairs with each total to 20 Please leave a review and be sure to check out some of my other resources at: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/Morrisr9

A 4 day series of lessons on suspense and mystery. These lessons allow children to write in a suspense style by using ellipses, short sentences and making the reader think that there is something hidden. These lessons involve video clips and setting a spooky scene my turning off the lights during the reading of these paragraphs. A powerpoint, plan and resources are included.

KS2 Comprehension and Differentiated Activities

This comprehension is based on Qatar as a country and the processes they’ve put in place in order to host the World Cup 2022. It provides children with an interesting background knowledge of the country while testing their comprehension skills simultaneously. I have attached comprehension questions/activities for a lower ability, middle ability and higher ability learner, all in the same document. It worked well for the abilities in my own class, however it can be adapted to suit the needs of your class too. I have saved it as a word document and a PDF.

Column Addition Year 4

(0)
A week's planning based on building children up to adding using the formal method. The week begins by discussing ways to partition and add three digit numbers mentally. This embeds the idea that will be used for the week. From there, interactive activities are used to engage children with column addition and to understand that place value and aligning the digits is extremely important when using this method. This package includes a detailed, differentiated plan as well as a resource of number cards to use.
