This lesson is one of a series (scheme of work) to teach Coding techniques in Python and focusses on Types of Variables and Inputs. There is enough content here for 1 double lesson for very advanced students (or a small class) but there is enough challenge here for around 4 hours of teaching time. There are lots of Python challenges for students to try and extension task as well! It has been especially designed for GCSE. Learning Objectives Understand what a Variable is in Python Know what the different types of Variables are and what they are used for Understand and use Operator Precedence Know how to take an input of different data types from the user The resources in this pack will be enough for 2 X double lessons of Computer Science (each double lesson of around 1 hour 50 minutes) . This is lesson six of the Spreadsheet basics series of lessons. This gets students to understand how to use functions in order to do simple calculations (SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN) for a class of students with a mark-sheet for a fictional class. There is an advanced version of the mark-sheet for those super fast students which also needs them to work out how to calculate ranges and relies on earlier taught content on this course which required them to convert scores to percentages.
