In this lesson, learners are introduced to the second psychological explanation of offending - Cognitive explanation. We start by discussing morality which leads into Lawrence Kohlberg’s theory of moral development. We look at the stages of moral development before applying it to a real life case (Heinz Dilemma). We then look the link between offending and Kohlberg’s model, cognitive distortions such as hostile attribution bias and minimalisation. 4 mark exam style question, ‘how moral are you?’ test, evaluation task and discussion, PEEL paragraph practice, true or false questions, MCQs and we wrap it up with a box plenary. This free double lesson introduces learners to what marketing is before looking at the 4Ps. We then discuss how coca cola has worked on each P. A pair task to develop a brief marketing mix from a choice of three product types. Students then answer two 3 mark questions with model answers so they can self assess. This is followed by a group task to develop a complete marketing mix for a product of their choice and present back to the class. In the second lesson we recap, then look at the new Amazon Go store that is launching, we discuss the pros and cons of each then have a go at answering a 6 mark analyse question. 3.10.3 Managing strategic implementation - AQA A Level Business

This set of resources includes 2x PPTs and 4x word documents consisting of exam practice and activities - this can be delivered over at least 4 lessons. In the first double lesson, we start off by looking at an overview of developing and implementing strategy, including ways to implement strategy effective. We then look at the importance of leadership and communication in implementing strategy. Learners are then introduced to key concepts in organisational structures such as span of control and chain of command in engaging ways i.e chinese whispers to demonstrate the negatives of a long chain of command. We look at the pros and cons of tall, flat and matrix structures, then we move on onto centralised and decentralised structures. A short case study based on cartoon characters who have switched to decentralised - a few questions to contextualize the knowledge. Students acknowledge that orgnaisations can be strcutured in different ways such as by function, product or region. In the second lesson, students have the opportunity to learn about the supermarket industry, in particular Morrisons struggle with the budget supermarkets which led to restructuring - a 16 mark question with structure guidance and a detailed model answer to help students with peer assessments, as well as making improvements to WWW and EBI. To spice it up a bit, a group matching task, where students have to create an organisational structure - answer sheet provided so teacher can look around whilst students work on it. In the second double lesson, learners are introduced to critical path analysis, quite a tricky concept to understand at first for a lot of students - but not with this powerpoint. We start with an engaging starter to contextualise the topic, then we break down the elements of the critical path such as node, EST LFT, activities and durations so that we can see how it is built. Guidance is displayed step by step how to work out EST and LFT. Students have opportunities to practice completing and calculating critical path analysis, including working out the EST and LFTs, float times and the critical path. We then look at the advantages and disadvantages of CPA, followed by a concise case study on the usefulness of using CPA. Structure guidance and a concise model answer is given to help students improve their exam technique. A group task to construct a more challenging CPA and a kahoot quiz + box plenary to end with. This bundle of lessons is the ultimate resource for investment appraisal and can be delivered over 2-3 lessons. We introduces learners to the three main techniques of investmen appraisal, we go through each one, with step by step, concise, clear and engaging examples before students have a go at practising the calculations. We start with payback, a few examples with answers and then students can practice, we then look at the pros and cons before going on to ARR. A good set of examples and questions for ARR, with answers popping in to see how we get to the end figure. We then go on to look at NPV with a few more examples and questions. Two kahoot quizzes with links to further consolidate knowledge of how to calculate payback, ARR and NPV. We look at what else needs to be taken into consideration when making investment decisions such as non-financial, risk, uncertainty and sensitivity analysis. A 24 mark question which requires some calculation is included, with a concise model answer for students to use to develop their own answer. We finish with the box plenary as usual.
