Research Methods Retrieval Pyramid- A level AQA Psychology

(0)
10 questions that increase in difficulty on the research methods topic. Allows students to retrieve information on the topic as well as being differentiated. I’d allow 20 minutes for the activity- answers are included on the second slide. Created for A Level AQA and for use with year 12 students part way through the research methods module.

AQA A Level Psychology- Psychopathology Retrieval

A retrieval grid which is good for revision. The questions are differentiated. Students can spend 20 minutes answering as much as they can without notes and then use a different coloured pen to complete the reminder using their notes/ textbook. Answers for each are included on the second page.

A Level AQA Psychology- Attachments- Retrieval practice questions

(0)
A set of 10 questions plus detailed answers on the attachment topic. Can be given to students at the start of a revision lesson, teacher then feeds back the answers for students to self assess. Students can use this quiz to identify which areas of revision they need to complete. Students answering the questions, plus answer feedback would take approx 20-30 mins, so useful for the start of a double lesson.

Addiction A3 revision sheet- 2 sided- AQA Psychology

Enlarge this sheet to A3- it’s the whole addiction topic on two sides- useful for revision. Some boxes have been partially completed to help students. Would be used for an hours lesson- students to complete what they can from memory, and then use their textbook/ notes to complete. Could be followed with exam questions.

Psychology A Level AQA- Relationships revision- A3 sheet

(0)
A double sided A3 sheet which covers all the relationships theories. Each area of the specification is in different colours to help students group them together. I’ve included key terms to help guide student note taking. You could use it in a one hour lesson- students could fill in as much as they can from memory and then use notes/ textbook to complete the rest.

AQA Psychology- Addiction- Prochaska's Model of Behaviour Change

(0)
Full lesson on Prochaska’s model of behaviour change. Includes a Powerpoint and handout for students to annotate and complete. There are application tasks for students to complete which will allow them to check their understanding of the topic as well as two exam questions. The mark scheme for these is in the powerpoint. I would do this over a double lesson (2 hours) with lots of cold calling and mini whiteboard use to check and consolidate learning. I’ve included a 16m question that students could plan and write- either in the lesson if you have time, or you could set for homework.
Obedience to authority- application of learning

Obedience to authority- application of learning

(0)
This lesson follows the lesson after students have learnt about Milgram- and reasons for obedience. I used this lesson to consolidate learning about the reasons why people obey- and students can become defense attorneys for the Nazi soldiers. There are 2 versions of the document- one is a differentiated version for LAPs (low ability pupils). Enlarge them on to A3 paper.

GCSE Psychology- AQA- Brain and Neuropsychology revision

(0)
Two A3 sheets for students to work through independently when completing the topic/ revising for the exam. All points are taken from the specification. Students can first of all see how much they can do from memory, and then use their notes/ textbook to help complete. Both sheets would take one lessons to complete (50 min lessons).

AQA Psychology- Biopsychology- how much have you learnt so far?

(0)
A review activity for after you have taught the AS content on biopsychology and most of the A level neuropsychology- before starting biological rhythms. Printed on to A3, students work independently- it’s double sided. Students can do this from memory, or use a textbook/ class notes to help complete it. It would take an hours lesson and students can finish it for homework.
AQA GCSE Psychology- Psychological problems- revision A3 sheets x 2

AQA GCSE Psychology- Psychological problems- revision A3 sheets x 2

Useful for revision- one sheet is revising depression, and the other sheet is for revising addiction. Covers all the areas of the specification. Independent learning task, where students see what they can complete from memory, or use their notes/ textbook to help complete. I extend this task further by directing HAPs to add evaluation points on post it notes and stick on the relevant boxes. Each sheet takes one lesson (50 mins).
