A learning resource to help students learn the anatomy of the Brachial plexus- in terms of Roots, Trunk, divisions, chords, branches and the function of these branches

This is a set of flashcards written to cover cardiac activity. It can be differentiated by task- stronger pupils can have a stretch and challenge set, weaker pupils can have just the basics. Used as a plenary or a starter. Good for pupils preparing for interview, or as Revision activity for year 1 medics. I use it as private tutoring material for a medic, and with sixth formers.

I use this with my sixth formers as a revision/ stretch and challenge activity for those going on to read medicine. I also use it for Private Tutoring of a student at medical school. It's effective. Covers the basics of embolism formation and cardiac infarction. I use this as a starter/ plenary as matching pairs and/or flashcards (same resource lends itself to both). Can be edited by user depending on level. Can be used in Sixth form biology, PSHE or Sports science lessons. Used with year 1 medic for exams- also good for sports and exercise science

This is a revision activity that follows on from my other Heart Health/disease flashcards (available as a massive bundle). I use it as flashcards/ matching pairs, but can be used for sequencing. Covers the causes of arrhythmias. Post 16/ pre-university grade. Editable. I wrote it to stretch and challenge good sixth formers, but later added to it to Private Tutor year 1 Medical students - can also be good for sports and health scientists.

I did this as a video lesson and the camera man was getting all wobbly at using his flashiest kit. Works just as well with an iPhone (my footage was shot on iPhone) the better stuff made by the kids (not uploaded here because the files are huge), was on a Go pro hero 4- in high speed mode- other action cameras are available. This covers voltaic cells, electrolytic cells, BOD and Winkler method. Includes questions. Fine as prep, as a cover lesson, as a FOFO or as supplementary notes. I use it as supplementary lesson notes. Some nice weblinks and simulations included.

A simple format that can be used to stimulate discussion re mental health issues. Good for a classroom display as prep for a PSHE lesson

A nice independent research project written for the IDBP syllabus, but also used as Oxbridge and year 1 medical prep. It is essentially a research exercise looking at drugs and drug development. Can be used as Prep, or Homework, or, as a FOFO lesson if you have to set cover.

An editable resource for educating GIRLS about body image and how what you see is often impossible to achieve. Includes LINKSs to youtube videos (can easily be embedded). Note- there is an excellent MALE version of the same video by DOVE, showing male body distortions by photoshop. Used as a lesson, equally powerful as an assembly

A resource developed for the IB DP HL topic 15, energy changes, but also fine for A level or extension activities. Essentially I use it as a pair match activity- it works nicely as a small group activity- especially if you then get the pupils to sequence the cards.

This is a simple resource of matching pairs. Fine for revision- can be used as matching cards or as flashcards/ sequencing. I use this type of activity as part of a standard repertoire for a starter or a plenary for fact-based learning. It may not be trendy- but assimilating facts is pretty-much the cornerstone of chemistry learning, but pupils don't like it. This sort of activity makes it more entertaining, and with bigger classes you can do it as a race. I have small classes sources so I do it as a timed exercise over successive lessons.

I use this as a data management tool to get the pupils taking responsibility for their applications. I prefer pupils to fill in the columns in the table, so I just have to monitor the application via google docs.

A basic admin tool to get pupils taking responsibility for their university applications. Fine for PSHE, for Mentor tutors, careers advisors etc etc. I link to each pupil's page on a google document, that includes their Personal Statement framework, an excel document to manage applications and various commercially-available publications. get the pupils doing more, so you only have to monitor.

An editable worksheet for the IB DP syllabus with weblinks, activities and questions suitable for FOFO, HW or best as a prep for lessons (if you want to be trendy you can call it a "flipped"classroom, if you're like me you'll just call it prep or even good teaching). Can be used as extension activity for good, pre-IB pupils.
