Flashcards on the theme of REdox Can be used as pair matching. Nothing fancy, but v effective I use this as a starter and as a plenary.

This is a good Pre-IB pupil's lab report that I use as a marking exercise for staff and pupils as preparation for their IB DP work. There are lots of examples out there of pupils' lab reports from primary data- but this one was conducted from secondary source data. A good activity to give to pupils with marking criteria to check they understand the rubric for a lab report.

Revision Activity for Medical students or Upper sixth students prepping for Oxbridge interview, Med School interview, extra credit etc.

This an editable worksheet with weblinks for independent study. Has a graded sequence of questions involving calculations of Kc- from simple to complex requiring logic as well as application of the formula Kc =[products] / [reactants] Includes teacher notes and guidance as to how I differentiate- extend questions etc. At heart this is a simple activity, but you can really tailor this to your need- I like to use it as a refresher before tackling acid/ base equilibria and calculations of pH, but it could be used to reinforce the need to find things out for oneself, or as a homework, or at a stretch, for a cover lesson. leads nicely into Ka

Mainly for staff inset, but could be used as a PSHE for older pupils, or for a psychology lesson, or for medical students. Covers key terms and definitions.

A word doc with weblinks/ page references for independent research. Covers alkenes, alcohols, carboxylic acids, polymerisation, electrophilic addition, nucleophilic substitution, Includes gap fill, best response (multi choice) questions, mechanisms etc. I use this as prep, but can also be used as homework, or as a cover lesson. For Mentor Tutors really, but can be formatted for parents or pupils (it's editable) With the Brexit nightmare unfolding, European courses are MUCH more attractive/competitive (cheaper for starters, and with academics leaving the UK, this is a perfect opportunity for European unis such as ETH, to poach students and staff from Oxbridge and Imperial). Applications to Cambridge are down by 14% this year- those pupils have to go somewhere and they can't ALL go to Scotland or Ireland. This is a simple guide produced to help advise pupils as to what permutations of subjects to take and the cost of study. I've written it for IB DP but the links will readily allow you to convert for A level or whatever you teach.

Differentiated revision/ activity. This is a simple reinforcement/ revision resource in which the pupils need to link the boxes to complete the definition. I normally pair this with a second resource (attached) where the pupils then write the second part of the definition in a blank box. Alternatively, slice the statements into individual parts and scatter across the desk- pupils need to reassemble -which, if you believe in gardner's multiple intelligences (which I don't), is good for kinaesthetic learners.

As it says on the tin- a checklist of things I would expect pupils to do before they go to an interview. Proper preparation and planning prevent pretty poor performance.
