I have been Head of RE, Pastoral Lead and Head of PSHE & Citizenship in my 19 year teaching career. I am currently Head of PSHE & Citizenship at a large secondary school 11-18. My shop includes: PSHE and Citizenship sessions, Assemblies, Tutor Time activities SMSC, Fundamental British Values and Religious Education. This is a 15 minute tutor time session or assembly covering the mental health issue of clinical depression. It was originally a Yr 10 PSHE session for tutor time but can be used for all of KS3-KS5, Ages 11-18, Years 7-13. It contains strategies to cope, definitions, a slide of support groups to help students and some discussion activities. It contains a downloaded video clip so it will never disappear. This fits in with the new RSHE curriculum, Keeping Children Safe in Education and the PSHE curriculum.

This is a full lesson on an introduction to Hinduism covering their beliefs in god, festivals, beliefs, symbols, temple, worship etc. It includes a couple of short video clips and some discussion and written questions for students to complete. It has some extension tasks and is suitable for use in the classroom with no photocopying required. It is suitable for KS2, KS3 and KS4 (Ages 11-18) and takes an introductory look at one of the world’s most popular religions.

This is a 15-20 minute assembly that covers the important issue of communication skills. It can be used for whole school, KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) but was originally a tutor time PSHE session for Year 8. It contains two downloaded video clips that will never disappear and some discussion activities. These could easily be turned into written activities to last a whole lesson on key skills, careers, PSHE or Citizenship. This is a 10-15 minute assembly to celebrate and focus on the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia. It is suitable for Ages 11-18 (Years 7-13, KS3-KS5, Grades 6-12) and fits into the RSE & Health curriculum as well as the PSHE, Citizenship, RE, British Values, SMSC strands. This is a comprehensive list of hundreds of relevant awareness days for a primary or secondary school. It maps the entire academic year and includes over 400 different dates and days. This is useful for pastoral leaders, PSHE leads, SLT or anyone that is putting together an assembly rota, bulletin, calendar or diary for the academic year starting September 2023. It includes cultural, religious, personal, health and social awareness days and has been triple checked for accuracy. I have pulled together all of the dates so you won’t find a more comprehensive diary anywhere. This will be a document that is updated as more dates are added next year or there are any changes. It brings together all of the useful special days for schools to focus on as part of their PSHE, Citizenship, Fundamental British Values, SMSC, Healthy Schools, Character Education, Finance Education, Religious Education and whole school ethos. All of the proceeds of this resource will be given to Save the Children for Ukrainian refugees. This is a powerpoint and worksheet to teach KS3 and KS4 about the Gurdwara in Sikhism. It was originally a 90 minute lesson but can be easily completed in 60 minutes or adapted slightly for shorter lessons. It includes videos, discussion tasks, written tasks, extension tasks and provides visual learning for pupils for a really immersive look at the Sikh Holy Building.

This is a 15 minute assembly about exam stress suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13). It is especially useful in the run up to any periods of assessment or exams. It covers different ways and tips to manage exam stress by three downloaded short video clips that will never disappear! It has some discussion questions but this session could be lengthened by students writing notes and their own revision plan if you needed it to last a whole lesson. It was originally a Year 9 tutor time PSHE session about the importance of looking after student’s mental health in the run up to an assessment period. It fits into the new Relationships & Health Education, the Mental Health agendas, Keeping Children Safe in Education, Careers and Exam Skills and the PSHE Curriculum or it can be used as a whole school resource as an assembly.

This is a 10-15 minute assembly about the important issue of anti-social behaviour. It is suitable for a whole school assembly for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) and was originally used for a tutor time PSHE session for Year 10. It includes discussion activities which could be lengthened and written for a full lesson. The issues it covers are: What anti-social behaviour is & examples What are the consequences of anti-social behaviour Why it is important to report ASB How students can prevent it in the community How dropping litter is an anti-social act It includes two short video clips which are downloaded so will never disappear. The students reacted very positively to this session. It fits into the PSHE curriculum, Relationships and Health Curriculum, Keeping Children Safe in Education or a whole school SMSC and FBV assembly.

This is a 15-30 minute tutor time session celebrating deaf awareness week. However, it can also be used for deaf awareness at any time of the year. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18, Grade 6-12). It was originally a Citizenship session for the whole school. It includes: Information about deaf awareness week Information about how many deaf people there are in the UK Information about the devices people use A downloaded and clipped video which will never disappear about what ‘deaf’ means How we can support those in the deaf community What British Sign Language is and why it is important Activity and infographic getting students to sign their own name A connection to Fundamental British Values, UN Rights of a Child and a Reflection task Other links to watch the news There are discussion and activities throughout but this could easily be changed into written tasks to last a whole lesson if required. It includes dual coding and logos throughout. This presentation was well received by all year groups and many have gone on to learn BSL as a result. This is a 15-20 minute tutor time PSHE session on charity volunteering. It can be used as a whole school assembly for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Ages 11-18, Grade 6-12, Years 7-13). It does not have any written tasks just two downloaded video clips that will never disappear and discussion questions so students can find out what they can volunteer for and why they would benefit from voluntary work. This can be lengthened or shortened to fit a tutor time, assembly or a lesson for PSHE, Citizenship, Fundamental British Values, SMSC and Character Education. This is a 90 minute KS4 lesson about the Hillsborough Disaster focusing on the issue of social action. This lesson should be shown alongside the story of Anne Williams and the ITV documentary, Anne Williams: Unfinished Business (not the dramatised four part one). It covers: What happened at Hillsborough The lies that were told The processes of the inquests The details of the event Justice for the 97 court verdict The refusal to buy The Sun newspaper The Hillsborough Law It is fully narrated but the icon on each slide can easily be deleted if you would prefer no narration. There are written or discussion activities which focus on social action and justice including do it now tasks and a review activity. The documentary is downloaded and clipped so you do not have to wait for the adverts and it will never disappear! This is suitable for KS4 and KS5 (Years 10-13, Ages 15-18) as the video does include limited swearing and an image of Kevin Williams on the pitch. All proceeds from your purchase will be donated to the Hillsborough Justice Campaign.

This is a lesson which centres around the Coercive Control BBC documentary. It was originally a set of 2 x 90 minute Citizenship lessons but can be adapted easily. It includes written activities and discussion points as well as extension tasks, definitions, moral issues and sources of support. It has already engaged lots of students and taught them the law and issues surrounding Coercive Control. It highlights how to spot coercive control and leads to some excellent discussions among KS4 and KS5 students.
