I have been Head of RE, Pastoral Lead and Head of PSHE & Citizenship in my 19 year teaching career. I am currently Head of PSHE & Citizenship at a large secondary school 11-18. My shop includes: PSHE and Citizenship sessions, Assemblies, Tutor Time activities SMSC, Fundamental British Values and Religious Education. They are fully resourced RE or Citizenship lessons, worksheets or 15 minute assemblies/tutor time PSHE sessions suitable for 11-18 and some can also be used for younger audiences.

This is a 10-15 minute tutor time PSHE session or assembly on healthy living. It covers what a healthy diet is and what an unhealthy diet it. It has some interactive anagrams, discussion activities and three downloaded video clips that will never disappear! It was originally a tutor time PSHE session for Year 7 but can be used for any year group at KS2 - KS4 (Years 5-11 Ages 9-16) and is suitable to be used as an assembly or whole school session.

This is a KS3, KS4 or KS5 lesson (ages 11-18) focusing on Rastafarianism. It explores the different practices e.g. ital food, dreadlocks, reasoning sessions. It also shows how rastafarianism began and how it developed and is practiced today. There are some video clips, discussion activites, creative activities and written tasks. There is no photocopying for this lesson. This lesson is suitable for 60-90 minute lessons but can be shortened or lengthened very easily. It can be used in Citizenship, PSHE or RE lessons with a focus on SMSC. This was originally a 60 minute Year 10 lesson to introduce the world of work and preparing for job interviews. It covers body language, dress, how to give a good impression at an interview, body language and some suggested careers. There is a worksheet to accompany it with this lesson but it can be used without it. This lesson is suitable for older KS3-KS4 pupils (13-18 years old) and as part of their PSHE, Careers or Work Experience session in a tutor time. It can be easily shortened or lengthened and has worked well with my students.

It outlines definitions, how boys can check for testicular cancer, why it is important to know at such a young age and what the symptoms are. This is a 15-20 minute assembly on the important issue of hate crime. It can be used for all KS3, KS4 & KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) year groups as an assembly, a tutor time session or a PSHE whole school lesson. It was originally a tutor time PSHE session for Year 10. It includes: What hate crime is What the law about hate crime is Graph to show the rise in hate crime What to do if you experience hate crime inside and outside of school 3 downloaded videos (that will never disappear) that explore whether hate crime adverts are effective and shows examples of hate crimes in society Whether we should allow hate crime or stand up to it It includes discussion activities but no written tasks, although these could be adapted to last a whole lesson if needed. It fits into the new Relationships and Health Education curriculum, Keeping Safe in Education, PSHE & Citizenship curriculum, SMSC & FBV and is appropriate for a whole school assembly.

his is a 10-15 minute assembly about vaccinations. It is not specifically about Covid 19 vaccinations but more about vaccinations in childhood and in general. However, it could easily be used to cover Covid-19 vaccinations as well. It is suitable for KS3-KS4 (Ages 11-18, Grades 6-13, Years 7-13) and was originally a year 9 tutor time PSHE session. It focuses on the key question, Why is getting vaccinated so important for public health? It covers: What vaccines are and why they are important 3 short downloaded videos that will never disappear about: WHO immunisation for all programme A world without vaccines How vaccines work It ends with a plenary discussion task There are no written activities just information and discussion. This fits into the new RSE and Health Curriculum, PSHE or Whole School assembly approach to Healthy Living.

This is a 15-20 minute assembly about emergency first aid. It covers how to perform CPR and stop heavy bleeding. This is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grade 6-12) and can be used as a tutor time session, PSHE or Citizenship lesson or Health whole school assembly. It fits into the new RSE and Health Curriculum of 2020 but can be used for other purposes to teach people these important life saving skills. It includes: What CPR is How to perform CPR How to stop bleeding when someone is bleeding heavily What a defribrillator is Infographics to remind students of first aid Dual coding and discussion task This does not include any written activities but ends in a discussion task about whether you should give anyone who needs it CPR. There may be BBC links in that only work in the UK. This was originally used for a Year 11 PSHE tutor time session about emergency first aid after an introduction to CPR earlier in the year and in school. This is a 10-15 minute presentation about personal identity. It was originally a PSHE tutor time session for Year 7 but it is suitable for KS2-KS3 (Years 3 - 9 Ages 7-14). It covers what makes up an identity, gives students the opportunity to think about their own identity and includes a downloaded video so it will never disappear. There are no writing tasks, just discussion questions. It fits with the new RSHE or PSHE curriculum and is suitable for an assembly or whole school session.

This is a 10-15 minute tutor time session abour right wing extremism in the UK. It includes definitions, the names of groups and explains what the Prevent strategy is doing to try to prevent extremism. It focuses on discussion activities and includes the murder of Jo Cox in 1016 and mentions the recent Plymouth attack. There are two short video clips downloaded so they will never disappear. This can be used as an introduction to right wing extremism as part of the PSHE curriculum, an assembly for whole school secondary age pupils or can be easily added to in order to make a longer Citizenship session. It was originally a Year 8 tutor time resource for PSHE provision but can be used for KS3-KS5 (Years 7-13 Ages 11-18). There are no written activities in this presentation. There are many other resources in my shop for Extremism, Radicalisation and Terrorism.

This is a 10-15 minute session about organ donation which links in with the RSE and Health Curriculum for Secondary Schools. It can be used for an assembly, a tutor time session, a whole school event or a PSHE lesson. It can easily be lengthened to last a lesson and has been used successfully with KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18) however it is also suitable for Upper KS2. It contains definitions, information, downloaded videos about what it is and the transplant process. It has a quiz plenary to ensure pupils’ understanding.

This is a 15 minute assembly or tutor time session for KS3 -KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) which tackles the issue of suicide. It was originally a Year 10 PSHE session for tutor time. It includes why people commit suicide, what are the warning signs and what support is available to support people considering suicide or people who want to help someone else who is having suicidal thoughts. There are three short downloaded videos so they will never disappear and contains discussion activities and no written tasks. It would be easy to lengthen this issue to an hour with this resource using longer debates and written activities. This fits into the new RSHE and the PSHE curriculum and can also be used as a safeguarding session or a one-off whole school assembly.
