The following 7 page audit designed in diagrammatic format, asks questions of the practice undertaken in your provision so that you and your Leadership Team can reflect and review the current position of the areas identified…those areas for the purpose of this document are: Curriculum and curriculum development Teaching, learning and assessment Behaviour management Staffing Site and resources Other considerations - like staff and student voice/extra curricular etc. This is an authentic document that I wrote to help identify my initial priorities as I moved into a new position as head of a special school.

Any colleague joining a new school/Educational Provision, needs to have access to the best support from colleagues within the first few weeks and beyond. This will often take place via line management structures/coaching systems and other monitoring mechanisms. This simple template which I designed for use in my Special Needs Provision(PRU) can be used alongside such systems and by Senior Managers and by colleagues themselves, to track early priorities during the induction process.

This is an extensive Curriculum Statement that I wrote for my KS3 Centre (PRU) in readiness for Ofsted; it also proved to be a great reflection tool that enabled us to look at all areas of the curriculum and to assess if it met the needs of our young people.

Clear advice and guidance to help all teachers re-establish an effective learning environment; this resource identifies key action points for developing effective behaviour management alongside other whole school issues that will support successful student transition back into the classroom.

An excellent resource for all those staff needing to track, monitor and trigger support for student behaviour; a useful resource that works alongside other SEN documentation as part of any action planning processes - this documents forms an evidence base over time of actions taken and the appropriate support that has been implemented. I have added the Inclusion Support Plan as an additional resource with this package - both documents would work together.

This is Part 3 of 3 Behaviour Support Programmes for Students. The BSP Part 3 is a module of work that can be used with students who are at risk of FTE or indeed have received multiple FTE previously. The work would be ideally suited to students in Alternative Provision/PRU who have made mistakes, but are willing to reflect to try and improve things for themselves. It fits alongside BSP 1 which is also available. The module consists of 6-8 lessons that cover the following topics: What do I know about FTE? The Learning Diary is a booklet that can be used for students to record evidence of their learning that takes place outside of the classroom environment.

Introducing Relationships Education This is an ideal module of work to introduce the importance of positive relationships at home and in school. The 5-6 week module identifies clear lesson by lesson planning and resources that focuses on relationships at home, in school and with friends and encourages students to reflect upon their own experiences.

A module of work that can be easily slotted in to any PSHE or Careers Programme for KS3 or KS4. The module focuses on student aspirations and their hopes for the future; it’s lesson by lesson format helps students to identify their own skills and those which employers may look for. It links in to job adverts and helps students obtain a better understanding of adverts when looking for potential jobs/careers. It concludes with students reflecting upon what it takes to become successful and what they need to do to achieve their life ambitions.

Using this resource will prove an excellent way to reinforce Behaviour Management expectations for staff. It aligned to our 'Behaviour Slip System of blue and red slips for poor behaviour and reminded staff of when follow up was required, or indeed if they needed to deal with the named ‘behaviour incident’. It stopped staff writing lots of behaviour sips and always passing on issues to pastoral staff or sending students out; it helps to make staff more accountable for what goes on in their classrooms. It can be adapted to suit your own BM protocols. There are two models added, with the coloured version an update on the first. It really does work with teachers, as well as proving a useful resource for staff training.

The 5-6 week Problem Solving Module can be added to any Life Skills or PSHE programme and is ready to go, with a lesson by lesson format that identifies all of the teaching activities to be undertaken and the resources required. The aims for the Module are as follows: Students will be able to identify a problem within different situations and consider different ways of being able to solve the problem. Students may be able to Coach others into encouraging different ways of solving problems some students may have. Students will be asked to discuss some problems that may arise in the workplace or during a part time job and then come up with possible solution Students will have a knowledge of Benefits and Burdens Analysis The format is the same as all other modules I have added to my dashboard, that allows non-specialists to be able to pick up the work and deliver it without planning. The modules I have added, including this one, are ideal as cover work and for use by cover supervisors.

Having introduced a Coaching Programme for teachers and support staff in my schools, I have seen the benefit of such a system at first hand. This resource identifies a method for introducing a Coaching Programme for support staff in your schools; the same resource can be adapted for introducing the same programme for your teachers, but it would require some careful additions regarding a focus on teaching and learning and, or other key foci for your team.

Having introduced a Coaching Programme for my team of teachers and support staff, I was able to witness at first hand the benefits of such a system. This resource includes both the teacher reflection sheet and observers recording sheet that can be used by staff involved in the Coaching Programme. The sheets can be adapted for use by teachers or indeed support staff.

A Template that will help Senior Teams and Middle Leaders collate evidence on student work in a coherent and straight forward manner. It already contains a number of key areas of focus that will be required by your teams, however it can easily be adapted to suit your establishment.

Supporting colleagues through a ‘Coaching Approach’ is considered an excellent way in which to involve staff in their ‘school journey’ If you are interested in leading out a Coaching Programme for staff at your school, then a good starting point is to complete an online qualification; I completed a 100 hour course in Life Coaching before implementing a Coaching Programme for teachers and support during my role as a Head and HOC. This resource contains my 4 completed assignments of 5000 words + to help you along your way - all passed with distinction. I have also added teacher planning and observation sheets to this resource that have been used in my provision as part of the process. Student attendance continues to come under scrutiny since the Covid Pandemic. The Tracking and Monitoring attendance package contains the appropriate monitoring tools and associated resources/letters/templates to effectively track student attendance in any school. Alongside the resources are appropriate letters that align to different stages of the tracking and an overall monitoring chart to be used by the attendance officer, to track referrals and cases which require additional follow up. In addition I have added monthly Red/Amber/Green Letters which are an additional monthly resource to inform parents of their students attendance and how it aligns to school expectations. I have also added a template that helps staff to identify historical attendance and exemplar narrative to help you use the appropriate language used by monitoring agencies. I have used this bundle of tools to track attendance in all of my roles in the past 6 years and it has proved very effective and easy to use. The booklet contains over 40 different practical challenges(like the Cube on TV) that can easily be set up using very basic resources, most of which are already in the home or school environment. they are very simple but have proven over the years to engage young people of all ages whilst also developing a culture of fun and participation. The challenges/activities can be used as part of any wet weather PE lessons or wet lunch sessions that need to be completed indoors. The booklet literally contains hours of activity proven to challenge and engage children of all ages.

A mini module that can be incorporated into any careers Program, that prepares a student for attending an interview, or indeed to support them in preparing for any school based interview process.

Aims for the use of this Booklet: This booklet will help schools support students in developing positive aspirations for the future; the statement produced will help teachers to address the needs of individual students (Gatesby BM 3) and then provide evidence for encounters with employers and employees (Gatesby BM 5) as in Practice Interviews, for example. A positive Careers statement will serve any young person well and advertise their skills, achievements and experiences to future employers and for College and University applications. This extensive step by step booklet can be used for KS4 and Post 16 students alike, as both age groups would benefit from using such a statement alongside their CV. The aim of this booklet is to guide students in to writing a Careers Statement, that helps to show off their strengths, personality and achievements during their school career and to bring together the positives of their educational journey to date.

A Powerpoint that guides the students into strengthening their memory through image chains - the PP could help shape a Learning session/PSHE lesson to help students improve their working memory.
