French GCSE J'ai mal - illness, health & body parts
A resource for GCSE French on the topic of illnesses and sickness that will help pupils to speak and write about their health, symptoms and solutions. There are reading activities and lots of translation using the avoir expressions: avoir mal/ envie/ besoin/ faim/ soif/ chaud/ l’air etc.
There is also a writing task and model answer for pupils to complete before attempting their own.

Spanish KS3 Basics Translation Game & Practice (age, name, pets, descriptions)
A translation game to get pupils producing accurate sentences about the basics: name, age, nationality, languages, family, pets & description.
Pupils play in threes. Two pupils roll the dice and translate the sentences while one pupil is the referee who checks the accuracy of their answers. There are also empty translation grids to use as a plenary exercise into Spanish and English.
French GCSE Les vacances: Holidays present & past reading comprehension & translation
This is a standalone resource for whole lesson on holidays for GCSE. The worksheet focuses on honing reading skills and technique, recycling key vocabulary and translation on this topic. Knowledge of holidays in the present and past tense required.
Activities:
Decode the questions on which the reading comprehension will be based;
Read three short texts about holiday preferences & where the speaker went last year;
Revisit the questions decoded in (1) and decide ‘who says what?’, highlighting the evidence in the text as pupils decide;
A ‘vocabulary search’ of English words/phrases from the texts;
Decoding French sentences which recycle the vocabulary above (translation into English);
Translation into French - a reformulation task revisiting all the structures and vocabulary which have been seen in this resource.

GCSE Spanish photo description: advanced and complex language for describing a photo
A speaking mat and support sheets for pupils when describing a photo in Spanish. There are lots of useful phrases to help with describing the photo itself, as well as lots of complex language and Grade 8 constructions for pupils to include. There is a speaking mat for revision and a support sheets with: phrases to introduce a photo, past tense expressions, weather phrases, using the gerund, complex constructions to include, useful connectives, opinion phrases etc.
My own pupils have found this very useful and it provides an excellent scaffold for them producing high quality work.
Spanish KS3 Mastering Regular Present Tense Verbs: Rules & Practice
A standalone resource to introduce KS3 pupils or foundation GCSE pupils to the regular present tense patterns with lots of practice and examples.
