This is one lesson looking at key paintings that she has created throughout her career.
The powerpoint starts with a key vocab slide followed by some important key facts about her life.

Each painting has a description of what is in the painting and the colours that she has used to create an effect.
The work at the end is for the art sketch books. They have to stick in the pictures and label what they can see and label the artwork
Here is a lesson all about muscles. I made this for a year 3 class.
The lesson includes:
WALT: know why we need muscles to move
chnildren re taught about how muscles allow movement - look s at the 3 types of muscles found in the body - skeletal, smooth, cardiac. with a description
There are a couple of links t videos within the powerpoint to watch and make notes on.
The powerpoin then moves onto looking at pairs of muscles that work together - particulary the tricep and bicep
The chn then have two sentences with missing words to complete about the bicep and tricep
Chn then have a comprehension to complete
I use this with a Year 5 class but can be adated for younger if needed.

There are videos and links to support the learning. The end goal is to create a bug shelter using wood and strengthening it with triangles. Then pack it out with natural materials from the environment and recyclable materials.

Discusses the fights between the Alfred and Guthrum and what happened.
Explains why Alfred was given the nickname Alfred the great.
Includes two activities -Activity 1 - colour and label a map of Danelaw and Alfred’s land.

Includes the two kings Athelstan and Constantine and the what happened between England and Scotland at this time. Also where the Vikings went and how Athelstan had to pay them off. includes map to show what it looked like at the time.
Then goes into Athelstan’s grandson - Aethelred and how he ruled England
Discusses the St Brice’s Day massacre
Followed by four activities - an short explanation/ true and false/ finishing sentences and answering a question.

Lower and middle ability word problems. There are problems and bar modelling included so the children do not have to draw the bar.
I used this with children who are working within the year 1/2 curriculum.

Meeting the pharaohs - Looks at what pharaohs are believed to be descendents from (sun god Ra) 9

Looks at what pharoahs wore and what they carried around with them and what this symbolises.
Looks at the roles and reponsibilities of pharaohs and the royal vizier.
Three activities included - 1. an explanation of why pharaohs were important.
2. True or false statements - children prove them with evidence from the power point
3. draw a picture of you as a pharaoh - what are you wearing/carrying. Explain why these items are important.

This lesson is a powerpoint and a task at the end. Include extension scenarios for discussion.
By the end of the lesson children will know what medicine is and when they need to take it. They will have had a discussion about who should administer and how to keep medicines safe.

Activity 3 - what different jobs did the priests do depending on their ranking

This is a full unit on Piet Mondrian
It looks at his different pieces and evaluates them.
Then it asks to look at the different colours and lines he created in his abstract pieces.
Children will recreate his different pieces each week.

After each painting there is an explanation of what is shown in the pictures and any symbols.
This is discussion lesson but at the end i have asked the children to choose a picture and explain in as much detail as they can what it shows.
This is a whole unit of work that is enough for 1 lesson each week for 7 weeks, with an extra activity included.

I normally print of the powerpoint for the children to help them find the info that is needed.
This is a full lesson discussing what a parable is with a key vocab slide with missing words.
It then concentrates on two stories - the house built on sand and water and the lost coin. there is a link to watch a you tube video of the stories.
Once they have watched a discussion needs to take place about the meaning behind the story.
Then the children stick in a picture and write the meaning behind each story.
This lesson looks at what happens during the nativity story - King Herod
It recaps on the the three wise men and then how this links in with King Herod
It include a passage from the bible - Matthew 2 :13-18 which is the King Herod section
It looks at the journey that Mary and Joseph took to get to Egypt when they fled with Jesus and then links this into todays world with refugees.
There is a comprehension task at the end.
Other activities that could be done are a wanted poster for Jesus or a diary entry for one of the days
