A fun way to practise the names of animals in French. However could in fact be used for any language. An extension to simply naming the animals, could be to practise the phrase J'ai un chat, J&'ai une souris etc.. Colours could also be mentioned or even the size of the animal. Worksheets on a Christmas theme using the prepositions: behind, in front of, near to, inbetween, under and next to. Could be used to revise propositions and Christmas vocabulary. For L/A children I have made gap-fill worksheets where just the proposition word is missing As my students have learnt propositions and Christmas Vocabulary I though this was a good way of testing what they remember. A fun way to practise breakfast vocabulary in French, or in fact any other language Children have to turn two cards over and name the item of food or drink on the card. To win a matching pair they have to name what is on the card correctly. This activity could be extended to using du/de la/ des when either using the expressions 'Je voudrais ... or Je mange ...&'or using le/la/les when expressing opinions about food. An activity where the children have to design a healthy meal and an unhealthy meal in French. I thought this made a pleasant change from making lists of words. Students have to label in French those foods which they have drawn together with the names of the 'place setting&' items. Could be used as a test. Please spare a moment to comment. I am always looking for ideas to consolidate topics which my students have learnt. This simple activity recaps and revises: name/age/nationality/hair/colour/clothes/opinions/propositions/verbs. Children are given the picture and have to find as many sentences as poss. which describe something in the picture. I have included a sample of sentences to give an idea. Possibilities are endless. Children have to see how many of those sentences they can find. Stickers for those who find different ones and to the person who finds the most. Ideal for pair work. Feedback is always valued.

A matching card game of the classic story 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?&'. A great way to introduce colour and names of animals in French, but could be used for any foreign language.
