A simple activity to colour-in following instructions. Revises gender, colour agreement and Christmas vocabulary. I think it could be used with both younger and older children. Your feedback would be very appreciated.
Des araignées dans le grenier
A book to make about 40 spiders in the haunted castle of Monsieur Patatras. Simple dialogue. Ideal for reinforcing: il y a, rooms in a house together with prepositions and of course counting to 40. Story ends with a question which will promote lots of opportunity for conversation. I have included intructions of how to make the mini book. You will need to make 2 books to accomodate all the pages. I used black paper to make my books. I'm sure the students will love this story for Halloween.

Chez moi et où j'habite ((Madame Dubois)
Reading comprehension about the home of Madame Dubois and where she lives and who she lives with. Includes the colour of her house, the names of rooms in her house and a detailed description of her study. She tells you about her garden and her flowers. and what her favourite room in her house is. I have added a two worksheets of questions.
Le Noël - Combien?
An activity which revises colour, number and Christmas vocabulary. One worksheet is where adult gives children instructions of how many objects to colour and what colours to use. Ma Ville - matching card game
Pictures of buildings and places you might find in any town. Once children have been introduced to the key vocab they will enjoy playing this game. Pupils have to turn over two matching cards and name whatever is showing on the cards to win them. This activity could be extended further whereby pupils have to say the phrase 'Dans ma ville il y a .....' or if the town doesn&'t have whatever is on the card they have to say &';Dans ma ville il n'y a pas ....&'. If you print off more of these cards, the game could double up for the game of snap. Enjoy and have fun!!
Où habites-tu?
Graduated worksheet introducing the concept of saying 'I live in (name of town/city) in (name of country). using 'à&' and &';en'. Children have to match the correct city to the correct country. Reinforces knowledge of countries and their flags.
Filou est dans le salon
A simple but a longer piece of text with a description of 'le salon' and a dog called Filou. Find out why he loves le canapé bleu. Talk generally about the text before reading it and ask a range of questions.There is an accompanying worksheet with question for the pupils to complete. Vrai ou Faux
A tick box fill in worksheet to say whether or not statements are correct. Those statements which are incorrect have to be written out correctly. I work with 8/9 years old who completed it quite easily. Your feed-back of how well it worked for you would be greatly appreciated. Statements can obviously be changed to fit whatever children have learnt.

A simple but longer text describing an English street scene. Uses prepositions, colours, number, age, name, weather and time. Questions include: where is? how many? who? what? Les vêtements 'matching pairs' card game
Game whereby children have to match the picture to the name of the item of clothing. Cards are placed face down on table. Children turn over two cards at a time. To win the cards the words have to match the picture that has been turned up. Before laminating the cards, back the picture cards on one coloured card and the word cards on a different colour. That way the children have to turn over one card of each colour. I found this really helped my children learn the vocabulary for clothes. Blank cards have been added, should you need them. Feedback would be really appreciated.
Brico - Bonhomme de Neige
Brico Scarabée, is how the French refer to our 'Beetle Drive&' game. (Brico meaning DIY.) So following the same idea, here is a &';DIY Snowman' to complete. Children will have fun as they practise names for body parts and facial features. When the snowman is completed he should have: a body, a head, 2 eyes, a nose, a mouth, 2 arms, a hat and 3 buttons. Making any language a game and enjoyable is what it&'s all about. Joyeux Noël à tous...
