This ppt includes a range of varied activities created to support Mira 3 Rojo textbook and compliment it with extra stuff. It also contains vocabulary tests, versions A and B to stop kdis from cheating from each other. Many tasks are made to challenge students of high ability. Ppt contains plenty of vocabulary to talk about sports, how often and when and why (adjectives). This sub-unit consolidates opinions, days of the week and verb conjugations in the present tense, all covered in modules 2.1 to 2.3. It has, towards the end of the powerpoint, a section dedicated to a wide range of starter activities (odd one out, what’s missing, pyramid translation, evil tiles, find the errors, disappearing text…). It also consolidates the 3 present tense conjugations and introduces stem-changing verbs (including some practise on these). Two worksheets inspired on the AQA A-level Spanish textbook, Unit 4 La Influencia de los Idolos, but which can be adapted to any textbook. Worksheet 1 contains 5 tweets / instagram posts posted by Hispanic celebrities which contain several grammatical errors, to be spotted by the students. Each post comes with a range of follow up questions based on their post to encourage students to talk in the target language. Great activity for speaking. Worksheet 2 contains a reading I created based on a youtube video with information on the most famous female youtuber in South America: Yuya. It offers follow up questions for discussion, grammar activities, comprehension activities and vocabulary exercises. Bundle also includes a short taboo game with Hispanic celebrities that the students need to describe trying to avoid the taboo words (they are given suggested keywords to support their descriptions).

Viva 3 - Modules 1-4 retrieval practice starters for exam revision These are good to do as starters before a module exam is going to take place, or as revision before end of year exams. PPT contains 4 slides, 1 for module 1 - somos asi; 1 for module 2 - oriéntate; 1 version of module 3 - en forma; and 1 version of module 4 - reciclamos. Please note unit 4.3 is the only unit from module 4 I based this on, as we don’t teach anything else from that module, so if you want to add content from other units, you’ll need to edit the activity. All the other slides include items from each sub-unit within the module, ensuring everything is revisited. Each slide contains 12 questions ranging from very easy - easy - challenging - difficult for students to translate into either language, or come up with a short explanation / phrase. The harder the question, the more points they can take if they get it right. The idea is for them to do it at the back of their book / on a MWB. Answers appear on click. Allow at least 15 minutes of the lesson for it to be done properly.

A translation maze inspired on the language from pages 104 and 105 on the Viva 2 textbook, topic ‘que tipo de casa prefieres?’ (module 5.1). All instructions are on the resource, and should be displayed and explained to students before starting to play. Aim: to find your way out of the maze by shading a path of correct answers. You get out when your path connects the entrance with the exit boxes. If you don’t know this activity it has, in essence, the same principle as a bingo. It takes quite some time to run, as there are 18 different questions/rounds and children get very excited by shading the boxes and counting how many left they need to shade before they get out of the maze! The teacher should then check the answers (all included) of any child claiming to have got out of the maze: note they should be perfect or close to perfect translations to be able to call a winner. If you were to get through the 18 rounds and no one has managed to get out of the maze (unlikely), go back to question 1 and get them to translate the opposite sentence until someone can win. This activity tends to work wonders with any age group and is a nice alternative to bingo. It’s also easily editable - you might find the sentences I’ve used are too challenging for your class. On my profile you can find the same activity for Viva 1 - module 4.4 como es tu casa o piso? with vocabulary related to pages 86-87.

This 30-slide resource includes extra materials to accompany the textbook to teach topic 6.3 el patrimonio musical y su diversidad. You can see what type of activities are included in the preview of the resource (main focus is on flamenco and the imperfect of subjunctive). Look at the notes at the bottom of each slide for answers to activities and instructions. This bundle includes the introduction of the imperfect subjunctive with a bunch of activities to go with it. Ideal if you have recently taught the present and perfect subjunctive and want to take it further.

Lesson I created specifically to get my GCSE students to be able to write and talk about an ideal holiday using the conditional form of verbs, but that could be used with any able year group. Materials included: a detailed lesson plan, ppt presentation with grammar activities + activities to cover all 4 skills plus a pdf differentiated booklet I created to give to the students to help themselves build their language according to their ability.
